Job Description

Aramark is hiring a Groundskeeper in Williamsburg, VA to help maintain the appearance, safety, and cleanliness of outdoor grounds and landscaped areas. This hands-on position is ideal for candidates with experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, lawn care, or horticulture who enjoy working outdoors. Daily responsibilities include mowing, trimming, planting, weeding, leaf removal, and maintaining sidewalks, parking lots, and common areas. The Groundskeeper will operate landscape equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, and sprayers while following all safety procedures. This role works in various weather conditions and requires physical activity throughout the day, including walking, lifting, bending, and operating equipment. Reliable attendance, safe work practices, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role. 

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $15.00 to $19.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

•    Maintain and improve facility grounds, lawns, gardens, and landscaped areas. 
•    Perform lawn care duties including mowing, trimming, edging, weed control, fertilizing, and leaf removal. 
•    Plant flowers, shrubs, and other landscaping materials as directed. 
•    Keep sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and outdoor common areas clean and presentable. 
•    Assist with seasonal grounds maintenance activities and weather-related cleanup. 
•    Operate power landscape equipment including commercial mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, saws, and sprayers. 
•    Operate trucks, tractors, and related attachments when required. 
•    Perform routine inspections, basic maintenance, and minor repairs on lawn care equipment and tools. 
•    Follow all safety guidelines and immediately report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or maintenance concerns. 
•    Support additional groundskeeping and facilities maintenance tasks as needed. 
 

Qualifications

Required
•    Valid non-commercial driver's license. 
•    Knowledge of groundskeeping, landscaping, lawn care, or horticulture practices. 
•    Experience safely operating power landscape equipment such as mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, and related tools. 
•    Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and other seasonal elements. 
•    Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, and pull throughout the workday. 
•    Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required PPE. 
•    Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.
Preferred
•    1+ year of groundskeeping, landscaping, lawn maintenance, horticulture, or related outdoor maintenance experience. 
•    Experience operating tractors, trucks, or commercial landscaping equipment. 
•    Experience performing basic equipment maintenance and repairs.
