Job Description

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Floor Technician in Savannah, GA to support floor and carpet care services in a fast-paced campus environment. This overnight role is responsible for maintaining hard surface floors and carpets through stripping, waxing, buffing, burnishing, refinishing, and carpet cleaning. The Floor Technician will also assist with general custodial and environmental services tasks as needed to help keep facilities clean, safe, and presentable. Candidates should be comfortable performing physically active work, operating floor care equipment, and working independently during third-shift hours. This position is ideal for experienced custodians, floor technicians, housekeeping professionals, janitorial staff, or facilities maintenance workers with specialized floor care experience.

The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with occasional mandatory weekend shifts.
Compensation for this position is 17.00 - $19.00 per hour

Job Responsibilities

•    Strip, wax, refinish, burnish, and buff hard-surface floors according to established floor care procedures
•    Clean and maintain carpeted areas using extraction, shampooing, spot cleaning, and vacuuming techniques
•    Operate commercial and industrial floor care equipment, including buffers, burnishers, scrubbers, and extractors
•    Inspect floor surfaces and identify areas requiring maintenance or restoration
•    Perform routine custodial duties, including trash removal, recycling collection, and cleaning assigned areas as needed
•    Maintain a clean and organized storage area for equipment, chemicals, and supplies
•    Follow all safety, sanitation, infection control, and chemical handling procedures
•    Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE)
•    Report equipment issues, safety concerns, or maintenance needs to management
•    Maintain a professional and customer-focused attitude while interacting with clients, staff, and visitors
•    Support special cleaning projects and floor restoration work as assigned
•    Work independently and efficiently during overnight hours while meeting productivity and quality standards

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
•    1-2 years of floor care, custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or facilities maintenance experience
•    Knowledge of hard-surface floor maintenance, including stripping, refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing
•    Experience with carpet care methods, including extraction, shampooing, spot cleaning, and vacuuming
•    Ability to safely operate commercial floor care equipment
•    Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
•    Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively
•    Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods
•    Availability to work Sunday-Thursday, 10:00 PM-6:30 AM
•    Ability to work occasional mandatory Friday and Saturday shifts when needed
Preferred Qualifications
•    Previous experience in a large commercial, educational, healthcare, or institutional facility
•    Experience performing floor restoration and specialty floor maintenance projects
•    Familiarity with cleaning chemicals, safety procedures, and PPE requirements
