Job Description
Aramark is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support daily facilities operations at a charter academy in Pontiac, Michigan. This role is responsible for general building maintenance and repairs to help maintain a safe, clean, and functional learning environment for students, teachers, and staff.
This is a handyman-style maintenance role. No trade license or certification is required. We are seeking candidates with general maintenance experience, especially those who have worked in schools, apartment complexes, retail stores, or commercial buildings
COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $27.00 to $30.00. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.
Job Responsibilities

Perform general building maintenance and minor repairs

Repair and maintain doors, windows, locks, fixtures, and hardware

Perform basic repairs on minor appliances, office equipment, and furniture
-
Conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance needs

Complete daily, weekly, and monthly preventive maintenance checklists
-
Use hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively
-
Respond to maintenance requests and service calls
-
Report larger or more complex maintenance issues to leadership

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Provide friendly, professional service to customers, clients, and coworkers

Follow all safety procedures, OSHA guidelines, and Aramark policies

Qualifications

Previous maintenance, handyman, or facilities experience preferred

Ability to follow safety procedures and work instructions

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required

Commitment to ongoing training and professional development
Physical & Work Requirements

Ability to lift, bend, push, pull, and perform physical tasks

Extended periods of standing and walking

Use of uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required
