Supervises Yosemite Mountaineering School and Guide Service office staff, Rock Climbing Guides, Mountain Guide staff, and Badger Pass Nordic Center winter operation staff while supporting client reservations associated with all guided activities as well as equipment rental. Assists Yosemite Mountaineering School and Guide Service Director in various administrative duties.
Compensation Data
COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $21.00 to $23.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities
• Supervises Guest Services and Supports Staff in providing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week coverage
• Trains Yosemite Mountaineering School and Guide Service personnel by utilizing training programs established in conjunction with essential operational procedures
• Responsible for ensuring guide competency in requirements of YMS operating plans, guide manuals, National Park Service regulations, interpretive guidelines, Leave No Trace protocols, and wilderness first aid.
• Responsible for developing and distributing marketing materials covering guided activities, and rental programs.
• Oversees Office Clerk staff tasks to ensure world class service is provided in the following areas:
• Check in and check out functions
• Coordinates registration functions and transportation for all guests.
• Ensures proper execution of all staff daily job duties.
• Guest orientation of all mountaineering school activities
• Proper telephone service technique and PBX operation
• Handling of guest mail, messages and special deliveries
• Coordinating reservations for guest transportation
• Full understanding and utilization of the property management system
• Familiarization with night audit function
• Assisting all guests in any way possible including following up on guest concerns in a timely manner.
• Maintaining a limited supply of sundries and restocks as necessary.
• Issuing and monitoring safe deposit boxes
• Opening and closing of support staff cashier banks.
• Design and implement training programs to ensure that all staff are well-versed in daily
job functions, safety awareness, and Aramark policies and procedures.
• Responsible for ordering, storing and inventory of all supplies necessary to perform daily operations.
• Communicate closely with all departments to ensure a seamless guest experience.
• Establish, implement, and follow all emergency procedures.
• Perform any or all other duties as assigned by Guest Recreation General Manager
• Assist Yosemite Mountaineering School and Guide Service Director with comparability studies and special use permits.
• Understands and manages all computer systems pertinent to Yosemite Mountaineering School and Guide Service operations
• Assumes management role in absence of the Director

Qualifications
• Wilderness First Responder, and CPR required
• Understanding and implementation of American Mountain Guide Association Scope of Practice in relation to Yosemite Mountaineering School and Guide Service office Rock Climbing Guides, and Mountain Guide staff
• American Mountain Guide Association course experience and/or certification preferred
• Requires a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a commitment to providing world-class service to the client, guests, and co-workers.
• A strong knowledge of personal computers is essential.
• Experience in all facets of providing guest services.
• Must be able to lead, motivate, and communicate effectively with others.
• Strong organizational abilities.
• Preferably two years in guide services, hospitality, or like environment performing like duties as Guest Services or Concierge’s supervisor.
• Must have availability to work varied shifts from several locations in Yosemite National Park
• One year professional guiding experience required. AMGA certification preferred
• Professional Nordic ski instructor experience and PSIA certification preferred
• Prior knowledge and experience within Yosemite National Park, technical mountain terrain, vehicle and foot travel distances, rock climbing routes, and mountain weather patterns
• Valid Driver’s License
• Must be able to read, write, and clearly speak English
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
