Job Title: Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant supports the Finance team within Aramark Sports + Entertainment by performing day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining the integrity of financial records, and assisting with the month-end and year-end close process for operations at Capital One Arena. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with 1–2 years of experience who is detail-oriented, analytical, and thrives in a fast-paced, event-driven environment.
The Staff Accountant will work closely with finance and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting for food & beverage, retail, catering, and event operations while supporting continuous process improvements and maintaining strong internal controls.
Compensation Data
COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $27.00 to $27.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities
· Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclasses, and recurring entries.
· Assist with month-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
· Analyze event-related revenues and expenses and investigate variances as needed.
· Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and GAAP.
· Partner with operations, payroll, and other departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and improve financial processes.
· Perform ad hoc financial reporting, analysis, and special projects as assigned.
- Operate technology, systems, and software such as voicemail systems, copy/scanners, personal computers, and MS Office

Qualifications
· Associates/ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
· 1–2 years of professional accounting experience required.
· Experience in hospitality, sports & entertainment, food service, retail, or other high-volume transactional environments is preferred.
· Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
· Experience with general ledger accounting, journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
· Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
· Demonstrated sense of ownership, accountability, and professionalism.
Technical Skills
- Typing skill 50 wpm preferred
- Mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
- Candidates must successfully complete an Excel skills assessment as part of the interview process.
