Title:  Formula Room Manager

Job Description

Aramark Healthcare+ is seeking candidates for a Formula Room Manager position at Children's National Medical Center, located in Washington, DC. The Formula Room Manager will be responsible for managing and supervising a team of nutrition technicians, and the production of formulas for infants, children and tube feeding. Maintains inventory levels, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures, and provides support to the hospital's clinical staff. 

COMPENSATION: The salary rate for this position is $70,000.00 to $80,000.00.  If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer.  This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

• Translates goals and objectives of the department into effective work operations and encourages and supports employees in achieving these goals.
• Facilitates and directs operations of formula room related to production, ordering, processing of formula orders, and distribution to ensure optimal nutrition care of patients.  
• Ensures proper inventory levels are maintained as well as sanitation and maintenance of storage
• Plans standardized processes and procedures by applying knowledge of nutrient requirements (including allergen management), age-specific requirements, patient diet orders, ethnic, and religious influences to ensure patient needs are met and comply with standards and national guidelines.
• Tracks metrics and responds to questions/requests regarding formula ingredients
• Collaborates with Clinical Nutrition Services and Nursing to determine suitability of formulary products for use by coordinating a systematic process of preparing, sampling, and evaluating products.
• Manages staffing levels, scheduling, training and performance

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) or Nutrition Diet Technician Registered (NDTR) highly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., nutrition, food science, healthcare management) preferred
• Healthcare experience preferre
• Food Service Supervisory or Management experience required
• Nutrition education, diet knowledge or infant nutrition knowledge preferred
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team of technicians.
