COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $130000.00 to $150000.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Description
The Chief Engineer is responsible for overseeing the operation of the Central Utility Plant including the cogeneration system. This role ensures compliance with District of Columbia (DC) laws and regulations, directs the work of subcontractors, and collaborates with maintenance personnel to optimize building systems. The Chief Engineer plays a critical role in responding to customer requests, maintaining operational logs, and ensuring all building equipment functions properly.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the safe and efficient operation of the Central Utility Plant and connected buildings/spaces.
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of the Cogeneration (Cogen) system in compliance with DC laws and regulations.
- System Maintenance, Repairs, and Upgrades
- Ensure proper operation and maintenance of the steam systems in the CUP and throughout the campus.
- Direct and oversee the work performed by subcontractors for plant maintenance and repairs.
- Monitor and coordinate maintenance activities to prevent system downtime and optimize performance.

Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in plant operations, cogeneration, or high-pressure steam systems.
- Strong knowledge of DC regulatory requirements for plant operations.
- Must possess or be able to obtain required DC operating licenses and certifications for steam and power plant operation.
- Knowledgeable of all regulatory compliance requirements
- Strong leadership abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Demonstrated time management skills, resulting in the ability to manage multiple client relationships and prioritize time and resources accordingly
- Creative and flexible in demeanor and style to adapt to new situations in a constantly evolving, dynamic environment
