The Student Hospitality Worker supports Bison Hospitality’s dining, retail, catering, and campus food-service operations at Howard University. This position provides students with hands-on experience in customer service, food service, hospitality, teamwork, and daily operations.
Student Hospitality Workers may be assigned to various locations and responsibilities based on operational needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, professional, service-oriented, and committed to creating a welcoming experience for students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.

Compensation Data
COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $18.40 to $18.40. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional, and efficient customer service.
- Assist with serving, stocking, and replenishing food and beverage items.
- Operate point-of-sale systems and accurately process cash, credit card, meal plan, or other approved transactions when assigned.
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary dining, retail, kitchen, service, and work areas.
- Assist with setting up and breaking down dining stations, retail areas, catered events, and special campus functions.
- Restock food, beverages, utensils, condiments, supplies, and other operational materials.
- Follow established recipes, portion-control standards, and food presentation guidelines.
- Assist with receiving, organizing, and storing products and supplies.
- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and service equipment as assigned.
- Properly sort trash, recycling, and compost in accordance with sustainability and waste-management procedures.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergen, personal hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.
- Wear the complete approved uniform and required personal protective equipment while working.
- Respond appropriately to guest questions and refer concerns or complaints to a supervisor.
- Work cooperatively with managers, supervisors, student employees, and union team members.
- Complete required training and follow all Bison Hospitality and Howard University policies and procedures.
- Perform additional duties based on operational and business needs.

Qualifications
- Must be a currently enrolled Howard University student in good academic and conduct standing.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Previous customer service, restaurant, retail, catering, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
- Ability to provide courteous and professional service in a diverse campus environment.
- Ability to follow instructions, complete assigned tasks, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication, dependability, punctuality, and organizational skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism during busy or high-volume service periods.
- Willingness to learn food-service procedures, point-of-sale systems, and safety requirements.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
- Must successfully complete all required onboarding, food safety, and operational training.
