Job Description

The Bar and Concession Event Manager oversees and manages the operation of bar and concession services during events to ensure a high level of customer service, operational efficiency, and profitability. This role is responsible for supervising staff, coordinating with event organizers, maintaining inventory, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Job Responsibilities

•    Manage day-to-day operations of bar and concession areas during events.
•    Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise bar and concession staff, including bartenders, servers, cashiers, and food prep personnel.
•    Collaborate with event planners, vendors, and internal departments to ensure successful event execution.
•    Monitor product inventory levels, place orders, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
•    Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety, health, alcohol service, and sanitation regulations.
•    Oversee cash handling, reconcile sales reports, and ensure accurate financial documentation.
•    Develop and implement standard operating procedures to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
•    Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.
•    Monitor and control labor and operational costs to meet budget goals.
•    Ensure proper setup and breakdown of concession and bar stations for events.
•    Conduct regular staff meetings and ongoing performance evaluations.
•    Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation of bar and concession areas.
•    Stay current on industry trends and recommend menu or process enhancements.

Qualifications

•    Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in food & beverage management, preferably in a high-volume, event-driven environment.
•    Strong leadership and team management skills.
•    Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
•    Proficient in POS systems, inventory management, and scheduling software.
•    Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on event schedules.
•    Valid Food Handler and Alcohol Service Certifications required (or ability to obtain).

Physical Requirements:

•    Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
•    Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
•    Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Preferred Skills:

•    Knowledge of event planning and coordination.
•    Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
•    Ability to motivate and develop staff.
