Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor security cameras, alarms, and access control systems during overnight hours.
- Conduct routine interior and exterior patrols of campus buildings and surrounding property.
- Walk the entire campus to ensure doors, gates, and access points are properly secured.
- Lock and unlock facilities according to established schedules and procedures.
- Verify authorized access and admit approved personnel, visitors, and vendors as required.
- Identify and report safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or suspicious activity.
- Respond appropriately to emergency situations and contact emergency services when needed.
- Investigate incidents and complete accurate written reports and documentation.
- Escort guests, visitors, and employees when required.
- Assist with parking lot monitoring and vehicle traffic control.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding incidents, investigations, and security-related information.
- Work independently while maintaining a professional presence throughout the facility

Qualifications
Required
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to work a consistent 3rd shift/overnight schedule.
- Ability to walk the campus for extended periods during patrols.
- Ability to monitor cameras, observe surroundings, and recognize unusual activity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to complete incident reports accurately and professionally.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Frequent standing, walking, and stair climbing.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
Preferred
- Previous experience as a Security Officer, Security Guard, Patrol Officer, Campus Security Officer, Loss Prevention Associate, or related role.
- Experience monitoring CCTV systems, alarm systems, access control systems, or security technology.
- Security license or certification if required by state or local regulations.
- Experience responding to incidents, conducting inspections, and preparing written reports.
