Job Description

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Custodial Services Worker (School Custodian) to support a clean, safe, and healthy learning environment in Savannah, Georgia. This hands-on custodial position pays $14.00 per hour and is ideal for dependable candidates who take pride in keeping facilities clean and well-maintained. Daily responsibilities include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas using standard custodial equipment and cleaning products. You'll work in an active school environment, perform physical tasks throughout the shift, and help maintain a professional appearance across the facility. Candidates with experience as a custodian, janitor, environmental services worker, housekeeper, or commercial cleaner are encouraged to apply. Reliable attendance, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential for success in this role. 

Job Responsibilities

•    Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, cafeterias, and common areas to established cleanliness standards. 
•    Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and disinfect assigned spaces throughout the facility.
•    Empty trash and recycling containers and transport waste to designated disposal areas. 
•    Operate and maintain custodial equipment, cleaning tools, and housekeeping supplies. 
•    Follow OSHA, company, and site safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and equipment. 
•    Identify and report facility maintenance issues through the work order process. 
•    Lock and unlock designated areas as required and help maintain building security. 
•    Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
•    Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for students, staff, and visitors. 
•    Wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing assigned duties. 

Qualifications

Must-Haves
•    Ability to perform physical work, including extended standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, and pulling throughout the shift. 
•    Ability to follow safety procedures and safely work around cleaning chemicals and equipment. 
•    Dependable attendance and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
•    Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean facility.
•    Ability to work in a school environment and interact professionally with staff, students, and visitors. 
Preferred
•    6+ months of custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, environmental services, or commercial cleaning experience. 
•    Experience operating custodial equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, or similar cleaning tools.
•    Experience working in schools, educational facilities, healthcare settings, or commercial buildings.
•    Knowledge of proper cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitation practices.
