Job Description
The Systems Administrator provides support at all levels of the IT organization and works to ensure functionality and reliability of all technology resources, including servers, desktops, applications, network infrastructure, telecom, and security. This position performs problem resolution activities, participates in the on-call rotation, establishes and manages vendor support relationships, and provides input to the Management team on improvement opportunities and solutions to enhance Avendra’s computing platform needs. NOTE: This permission is hybrid in the Rockville office. 3 days per week onsite.
Position Reports to Senior Manager, Network & Systems Operations
Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as a technical support resource to the Systems Engineer team, assisting on large scale projects, following up with stakeholders on open trouble tickets, engaging with Aramark IT teams to help Avendra Network & Systems Operations team drive issues to completion.
- Work with Systems Engineer team to support Avendra enterprise infrastructure-related systems and applications, supporting daily tasks, trouble tickets and larger-scale projects.
- Support the Avendra Helpdesk as needed, providing end-user desktop support, A/V setup and support for onsite conferences, new user and systems config and setup.
- Act as a technical support resource to the Helpdesk for ticket escalation, providing complex problem diagnosis, engaging the support vendors and determining long-term resolution path.
- Serve as on-site resource for Senior Manager, Network and Systems Operations, partnering with physical plant support when needed, assisting with server room support, and other on-site support tasks as needed.
- Provide conscientious, exemplary customer service to end users, application owners, and other stakeholders with complete issue resolution and follow-through
- Primary point of contact between our team and corporate IT security staff; team lead for security topics
- Other responsibilities as needed:
- Support service delivery goals and reporting metrics
- Attend daily and weekly team meetings
- Hardware and software maintenance
- Support security policies
- Support system change control process
- Some after-hours support for systems patching
Secondary Responsibilities
- Act as a backup for the Senior Engineer
- Maintain the infrastructure inventory spreadsheet and network diagrams
- Maintain technology service log to track outages and troubleshooting steps performed
- Assist in the capacity planning process
- Participate in design and planning meetings to support the technical infrastructure needs of projects
- Responsible for supporting any environment when the assigned engineer is unavailable

Work Environment. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and multifunction copiers.
Physical Demands. This role requires the ability to lift and install computers and other equipment. The ability to lift 50 lbs.
Role Requirements
- Knowledge of a variety of software platforms, including Windows client and server operating systems, Windows Desktop, mobile operating systems, Active Directory, Remote Access technologies, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Office, web platforms, SharePoint, SQL, Office 365, FTP, Service Now or similar ticketing system.
- Knowledge of a variety of server and workstation infrastructure: standalone, blade and virtual
- Knowledge of IT support processes, tracking systems and IT service performance management processes and project management
- Demonstrate strong relationship management with customers, vendors and Avendra associates
- Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving, and planning skills
- Demonstrate ability to take initiative, work independently, and multitask, with a flexible schedule
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and be available as-needed as well

Years of Relevant Experience: 1-2 years of experience
Education Requirements. BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent years' experience. Technical certifications a plus.

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate or salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.
