Job Description

Avendra International is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support the financial reporting and analysis needs of one of our segment's most prestigious global relationships. This role is dedicated to a single high-priority luxury client and works closely with the account team to build the financial case for the relationship: documenting savings, tracking financial performance, and preparing the reporting that supports business reviews at the executive level.

The position reports into the Financial Planning & Analysis function and partners day to day with both the Account Management team assigned to the client and Avendra’s Sourcing department, giving this role a direct line of sight into both the numbers and the relationship those numbers support. The client is implementing a Microsoft Dynamics 365 technology solution as part of its broader systems environment, and this role provides analytical support to that project, helping ensure Avendra's data and reporting integrate cleanly with the client's evolving platform.

This is a highly visible, detail-intensive role suited to someone who is comfortable owning a full analysis from raw data through polished client-ready output, and who can move between technical financial work and client-facing preparation without losing rigor in either.

This position is open to candidates based in Rockville, MD or Philadelphia, PA.

Job Responsibilities

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Savings and performance documentation. Prepare high quality financial analysis and custom reports that demonstrate and document savings and financial performance for the assigned luxury client.
  • Business review preparation. Build the financial reporting package and supporting analysis for recurring client business reviews, ensuring figures are accurate, well sourced, and presented in a client-ready format.
  • Data integrity. Validate spend, savings, and performance data against source systems before it reaches the client or internal leadership; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Trend and variance analysis. Identify trends, variances, and areas of opportunity within the client's spend and savings data, and translate them into a clear narrative for the account team.
  • Custom reporting. Develop and maintain custom reports and dashboards tailored to the client's specific categories, programs, and reporting cadence.

Client and Business Review Support

  • Property visits. Travel to client properties as needed to gather information, review performance in person, and support the account team's relationship with on-site stakeholders.
  • Meeting preparation. Attend business review meetings as needed, prepared to walk through the analysis and answer detailed financial questions in real time.
  • Responsiveness. Respond to ad hoc financial and reporting requests from the account team and the client with the turnaround and accuracy a luxury relationship requires.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Account Management partnership. Work closely with the Account Management team assigned to the client to understand account priorities and ensure analysis supports the account strategy.
  • Sourcing coordination. Coordinate with Strategic Sourcing to obtain accurate contract and pricing data that supports savings calculations. Identify potential opportunities for contract enhancements that could drive further price savings for the client.
  • FP&A alignment. Partner with the broader Financial Planning & Analysis team on methodology, reporting standards, and process consistency.

Reporting and Operational Discipline

  • Data accuracy. Maintain accurate, well documented financial data and reporting files for the assigned client, with a clear audit trail from source data to final report.
  • Process documentation. Document reporting processes and calculation methodology so that analyses are repeatable and can be handed off or audited.
  • Status updates. Provide regular status updates to the Avendra leadership on reporting progress, data issues, and D365 project support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum of three to five experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a related analytical role; experience supporting a single high-value client or account is a plus.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to build clear, accurate reporting from complex or imperfect data.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of Power BI or comparable business intelligence tools for dashboard and report development.
  • Exposure to or working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), or the ability to learn client systems quickly and support a technology implementation from the finance side strongly preferred.
  • Experience preparing client-facing or executive-facing financial materials, with the polish and precision a luxury hospitality relationship requires.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting analysis to both internal leadership and client stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and a disciplined approach to data accuracy and documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines and ad hoc requests without sacrificing quality.
  • Knowledge of GPOs and their operating principles preferred.
  • Availability to travel up to 25%, as needed to support property visits and attend business review meetings.
