The Director, Market and Pricing Analytics manages a department with teams responsible for competitive, compliance, and item analytics in support of the sales and customer care objectives.  Significant analytical expertise, familiarity with systems development in multiple environments, and project management skills are prerequisites for the role.  
 
This role requires strong business acumen coupled with highly honed technical skills. The skills necessary to be successful include: a deep knowledge of the data across the Avendra Group (where it is, what state it is in, troubleshooting when it doesn’t seem right, etc.), the ability to talk to both business users and technical resources, maintaining a flexible and collaborative approach to solve for challenges as the business requirements and technical infrastructure evolves, and the capability to operate at a tactical/technical level to deliver on projects.  

Position Reports to Vice President, Customer Analytics

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
•    Provide guidance to teams supporting sales, pricing, and item analysis 
•    Support the GPO sales process through savings and competitive analysis
•    Drive proactive, competitive pricing analysis resulting from sales and compliance activities
•    Communicate meaningful and actionable results and trends, especially as it validates contract value and identify opportunity for improvement
•    Ensure our items analysis processes and systems are current and complete and execute on opportunities to expand scope to support current and new processes
•    Lead data analysis for special projects, typically requiring the building of data models combining internal and external, unstructured data.
•    Serve as the subject matter expert for item analytics requiring both an understanding of the needs of supplier and clients and through that insight propose strategies for enhancing processes, reporting, and applications.  As needed, serve as the lead translator of business needs to technical resources for successful project execution.

Work Environment
This job operates in an office setting.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This is largely a sedentary role with some light lifting of files possibly needed

Qualifications


Role Requirements
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including advanced skills in MS Excel  and SQL
•    Practical experience with PowerBI preferred
•    Track record of successful technology project and process management and cross-functional teamwork
•    Experience with designing, developing and publishing quantitative reports and utilities for multiple audiences. 
•    Excellent organizational skills, including strict attention to detail and a demonstrated capability to consistently meet or exceed deadlines  
•    Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively with minimal management supervision
•    Prior experiencing with managing a team of analysts
•    Understanding of supply chain contracting a plus

•    Ideal candidate will have experience in hospitality and/or supply chain
  
Overnight Travel Requirements Occasional as needed
 
Years of Relevant Experience: 6+ or more years of experience
 
Education Requirements BS/BA in relevant field required; MBA Preferred
