Job Description

The Virtual Merchandiser is responsible for creating and maintaining engaging online shopping experiences that drive sales, increase customer engagement, and support brand objectives. This role manages digital product presentation, online merchandising strategies, category optimization, promotional execution, and website merchandising to ensure products are showcased effectively across e-commerce and digital platforms.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $25.00 to $28.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

Online Merchandising

  • Manage product placement, category organization, and digital merchandising strategies on e-commerce platforms.
  • Ensure products are accurately displayed with compelling descriptions, images, pricing, and promotional messaging.
  • Create and maintain homepage features, category landing pages, and seasonal online campaigns.
  • Execute website merchandising plans that align with sales goals and brand standards.
  • Monitor product availability and coordinate with inventory and operations teams to ensure online accuracy.

Digital Content & Customer Experience

  • Optimize product pages to improve conversion rates and customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to support promotional campaigns, email initiatives, and product launches.
  • Ensure consistency of brand messaging, visual presentation, and user experience across digital channels.
  • Recommend improvements to navigation, product discovery, and online shopping journeys.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Analyze website performance metrics, sales trends, and customer behavior.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including conversion rates, click-through rates, average order value, and revenue performance.
  • Identify underperforming categories and recommend merchandising strategies to improve results.
  • Generate recurring reports and present findings to leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, operations, inventory management, and creative teams to support business objectives.
  • Coordinate product launches, promotional events, seasonal campaigns, and website updates.
  • Participate in merchandising planning meetings and support strategic initiatives.
 

Qualifications

Qualifications

Experience

  • 2+ years of merchandising, e-commerce, digital retail, or online marketing experience preferred.
  • Experience managing product assortments and online merchandising platforms.
  • Familiarity with e-commerce systems such as Shopify, Magento, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, or similar platforms.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of online retail and customer shopping behavior.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret sales and website performance data.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, or similar reporting tools preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Primarily office or remote work environment.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or retail site visits.

Education

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Merchandising, Business, Retail Management, Fashion Merchandising, or related field preferred.
