Job Description
The Senior Project Manager (SrPM) leads complex capital projects across the Aramark Destinations portfolio.
The primary area of responsibility will be to support Yosemite National Park, but will also include various National and State Parks, conference centers, and real estate holdings.
The SrPM is accountable for successful delivery from initiation through close-out, coordinating internal and external technical teams (architecture, engineering, CM/GC, subcontractors, procurement, IT, legal, and operations) and serving as the day-to-day liaison with National Park Service (NPS), State Park representatives, and client stakeholders. This role is remote with significant travel to remote park locations and is expected to consistently meet or exceed contractual obligations.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as primary SrPM lead for Yosemite National Park capital program delivery, including historic rehabilitation of lodges, campgrounds, utility infrastructure, and accessibility upgrades. Also support Aramark Destinations projects across a wide array of projects within the portfolio.
- Coordinate with Yosemite Hospitality operations, NPS resource managers, and heritage preservation specialists to ensure sensitive execution of projects in culturally and environmentally significant areas.
- Oversee multi‑year Yosemite Capital Planning and projects; align sequencing, funding, and delivery with broader Aramark Destinations goals.
- Provide technical input and leadership on additional Destinations LOB projects across properties such as Denali, Grand Canyon North Rim, Bryce, Zion, Asilomar, Isle Royale, and other National/State Park units as well as project assigned by the Director.
- Own end-to-end project governance and compliance per operating agreements: initiation, approvals (contractual/legal), reporting, and documentation.
- Develop comprehensive project budgets; monitor, track, and report financial performance including forecasts and variance analysis.
- Select and manage planners, architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants; provide clear direction and performance oversight.
- Establish and maintain project SOPs tailored to NPS/State and Aramark requirements; regularly review and update standards.
- Partner with Operations to assess facilities/infrastructure; recommend work orders and initiate improvement projects to maintain state of good repair.
- Administer professional services contracts (architecture, engineering, historic conservation, sustainability, energy, and other disciplines).
- Plan and coordinate with SHPO/SHIPO, facilities maintenance, public safety, IT, regulatory, events, and administrators to minimize operational impacts.
- Provide construction oversight; ensure compliance with codes, industry standards, best practices, and contractual requirements.
- Proactively identify emerging technical risks across disciplines and drive corrective actions.
- Coordinate smooth transitions from project initiation through operational turnover and warranty/close‑out, including as‑builts and O&M documentation.
- Maintain organized project archives; manage current building drawings and campus utility maps.
- Prepare executive-ready reports and presentations; support senior leadership and board presentations as requested.
- Support Destinations new business/retention efforts with capital- and facilities-related inputs.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational excellence; able to prioritize across multiple concurrent projects and locations.
- Strong interpersonal skills; adept at building partnerships with diverse teams and stakeholders, including government and senior leadership.
- Resource planning capability to assess and allocate staffing across remote and varied project types.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication; confident presentation to large audiences and public agencies.
- High judgment, integrity, and discretion; proven ability to think strategically and deliver tactically; experience leading teams.
- 10–12+ years leading comprehensive capital projects from minor renovations to ground‑up construction, preferably across multiple geographies.
- Historic preservation project experience preferred but not required. (NPS/State contexts).
- Complex program planning and scenario development experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Planning, or related field strongly preferred (or equivalent experience).
