Reporting to the SVP Performance Excellence, the Senior Director of Capital Programs provides strategic leadership and oversight of all capital construction activities across the Destinations LOB. The role directs multi‑year capital planning, oversees Historic Preservation Center (HPC) operations, facilitates Master Planning, and supports the Destinations Growth team. The Senior Director leads the identification, selection, and management of all consultants, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal Aramark partners to ensure coordinated execution across projects and properties.

The Senior Director also builds, mentors, and leads a high‑performing construction project management team, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, technical standards, and professional development goals. Direct reports include Senior Project Managers and all third‑party project management support.

With a strong results focus, the role ensures compliance with construction and operational contracts, quality standards, budgets, and schedules. In partnership with internal and external stakeholders, the Senior Director drives standardized procedures and best practices for project management, procurement, and legal agreements related to architectural, engineering, and construction services. The role also leads the CER management process with Finance, including contracting and invoicing for all Capital Programs projects.

Job Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership  
Provide SME guidance and lead strategic planning for capital program development, master planning, and HPC operations. Mentor and develop the Performance Excellence project management team and HPC staff, and drive growth and succession planning aligned with LOB strategy.

Project Oversight & Team Management  
Oversee internal and third‑party project management teams, including consultants, A/E firms, contractors, and subcontractors. Maintain focus on project prioritization, quality, budget control, and regulatory compliance.

Functional Support to Site Teams  
Provide ongoing functional guidance to on‑site Facilities Management personnel and project managers through a dotted‑line leadership model, ensuring alignment between central initiatives and site operations.

Project Execution & Standards Compliance  
Ensure all construction activities meet applicable standards and that capital project milestones are delivered on time and within budget.

Stakeholder Engagement & Approvals  
Collaborate with on‑site teams and client representatives to secure project approvals and align client needs with internal planning.

Capital Budgeting & Financial Planning  
Support annual and multi‑year capital budget development by partnering with property project managers, regional leadership, and Finance. Contribute to financial planning with a strong understanding of funding structures and CER development.

Project Development & Bid Management  
Lead preparation of capital project proposals, scopes of work, bid processes, and documentation required for funding and approvals.

Contract Alignment & Operational Integration  
Partner with Regional, District, and account leadership to ensure project deliverables align with contractual obligations and LOB goals, supporting strategic and operational cohesion.

Job Responsibilities

Contract Management 
Manage the development and execution of standardized consultant and contractor agreements, ensure contractual clarity, consistency, and adherence to company standards. 

Construction Administration & Reporting 
Provide administrative support for construction contracts by reviewing safety documentation, project schedules, RFIs, and change orders, and delivering accurate progress updates to senior leadership. 

Project Documentation & Reporting Systems 
Develop and maintain centralized documentation for all construction and consulting efforts, enhancing visibility and accountability through clear and structured reporting processes. 

Contractual Compliance 
Ensure full compliance with Concession Contracts, facilitate timely and professional responses to client inquiries and issues through coordination with regional teams. 

Financial Process Management 
Manage all aspects of project financial processes, including funding source identification, CER creation, and invoice approval workflows to contribute to financial transparency and accuracy. 

Funding & Public Land Finance Integration 
Work in partnership with the LOB finance team to define and apply public land funding mechanisms, ensuring alignment between project scope and financial compliance. 

Maintenance Coordination 
In collaboration with the FacOps staff, align preventative, deferred, and planned maintenance efforts with broader capital project planning to ensure scope management and operational integration across sites.  Establish Prevention Through Design (PTD) protocols. 

Historic Preservation Oversight 
Direct operations of the Aramark Historic Preservation Center and support preservation staff member and architects on projects involving historic assets. Ensure all designs meet SHPO, NPS, and established historic preservation requirements.  Foster development and growth of HPC staff including apprenticeship programs to support HPC staffing for planned satellite shops within the LOB.  Support growth of HPS services across the LOB, NPS, Forest Service, public lands, and private clients. 

Master Planning Facilitation 
Lead the Master Planning process for LOB properties and supported operational teams in the development of viable business cases for capital investment.  Facilitate the development of actionable and programmatic master plans that align with the Line of Business’s (LOB) financial objectives and long-term strategic goals, with specific focus on enhancing revenue generation and operational sustainability.  Support financial proforma development and phasing scenarios to optimize capital planning. 

Environmental Compliance 
Working collaboratively with Sustainability and Safety & Risk Directors, maintain regulatory compliance and environmental components of capital projects.  Assure projects meet specific NPS contractual obligations and Aramark enterprise and LOB objectives. 

Safety Leadership 
Promote and uphold the highest safety standards across all construction and project operations to meet or exceed OSHA, NIOSH, and ANSI guidelines for the industry. 

Additional Contributions 
Take on additional responsibilities and assignments as needed, demonstrate flexibility and commitment to enterprise-wide success.   Oversee PM team and third-party contractor use of Capital Programs construction software.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications 
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. 
Advanced degree in field of education and, or related field, 
Additional certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, PMP) are advantageous. 
Experience 
Minimum of 15 years of progressive construction management experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity overseeing large-scale, multi-site capital programs ($50M - $70M+ portfolios). 
Proven experience managing capital construction projects related to government contracts and real estate development, with an understanding of compliance, reporting, and regulatory protocols. 
Extensive experience working within public lands, National Park Service (NPS), and historic preservation environments is highly desirable. 
Demonstrated ability to lead geographically dispersed project teams, with accountability for planning, execution, financial performance, and contract compliance. 
Experience with project management platforms such as e-builder, Procore, MS Project, and general working knowledge of CMMS systems and digital project management tools. 
Sustainability & Environmental Compliance 
Experience incorporating sustainable design and construction features, with working knowledge in LEED standards, U.S. Green Building Council guidelines, and Green Restaurant certification. 
Knowledge of environmental impact assessments, permitting, and compliance with SHPO and NPS standards for historic properties. 
Working knowledge of Wastewater and Water treatment systems within self-sustainable properties to support overall property operations. 
Technical & Functional Skills 
Expert command of construction delivery models (design-build, CM-at-risk, etc.) and lifecycle capital project management. 
Wide-ranging familiarity & experience to develop a given project from concept to operations.  Comprehensive ability to assess project parameters for, land development, site/civil, architecture, structural, MEP systems, building envelopes, and energy management. 
Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and engineering drawings, construction specifications, and technical documents. 
Comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, codes, regulations, and permitting processes relevant to public and commercial construction. 
Familiarity with project funding structures and financial systems tied to public land and concession-based contracts. 
Leadership & Communication 
Proven ability to develop, lead, and mentor high-performing construction project management teams and hold them accountable to job requirements.  
Skilled in presenting to and collaborating with senior-level government officials, internal executives, and external clients. 
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships across internal departments, clients, vendors, and stakeholders. 
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on executive reporting, project documentation, and client engagement. 
ShapeDemonstrated ability to informally influence cross-functional teams, leadership personnel, and external stakeholders, including public officials, to achieve alignment and drive desired outcomes 
 Planning & Operations 
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, budget management, and capital forecasting. 
Effective in coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business strategy, operational timelines, and financial targets. 
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt in a dynamic and complex operating environment. 
Other Requirements 
Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel regularly (50%+).
