Job Description
The Vice President, EHS & Risk Management serves as the leader of risk within Aramark Nexus, providing strategic oversight and operational leadership across three interconnected domains: workplace safety, environmental compliance, and contract compliance. Reporting directly to the Regional Vice President, Strategy & Development, this role is responsible for building and sustaining enterprise-grade risk frameworks that protect Aramark's employees, communities, clients, and contractual commitments across a dynamic portfolio of hyperscale workforce housing environments.
The Vice President, EHS & Risk Management partners closely with site-level leadership, Nexus Leadership, and cross-functional corporate teams to ensure that every community in the portfolio operates in full compliance with applicable regulations, contractual obligations, and Aramark standards. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring executive presence, deep technical expertise, and the ability to influence a geographically dispersed organization.
This executive leadership opportunity is well suited for experienced EHS, Environmental Health and Safety, HSE, Safety, Risk Management, Environmental Compliance, and Corporate Compliance leaders who have managed complex, multi-site operations. The role provides enterprise-level oversight across workplace safety, OSHA compliance, environmental programs, regulatory compliance, contract performance, and operational risk within large-scale construction, facilities, infrastructure, hyperscale, industrial, and workforce community environments.
Travel Requirements
Travel requirement: 30%, including regular site visits across the portfolio and periodic client or regulatory engagement.
Job Responsibilities
Safety Leadership & Program Management
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve a comprehensive occupational health and safety program across all Nexus Workforce Housing Community sites within the portfolio.
- Establish and enforce safety standards, policies, and procedures in alignment with OSHA regulations, client contract requirements, and Aramark's enterprise safety framework.
- Lead safety culture initiatives, driving proactive hazard identification, near-miss reporting, and behavioral safety practices at all levels of the organization.
- Conduct and oversee regular safety audits, inspections, and site assessments; develop and track corrective action plans to closure.
- Coordinate with site and district leadership to deliver safety training programs, new employee orientation safety content, and ongoing competency development.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies (OSHA, state departments of labor) on all safety-related inquiries, inspections, and enforcement activities.
- Develop and report on key safety performance metrics (TRIR, DART, near-miss rates) to the RVP and LOB leadership team on a regular basis.
Environmental Compliance & Sustainability
- Serve as the leader for environmental compliance, ensuring all Nexus community sites meet applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations including EPA, stormwater (NPDES), hazardous waste, and site-specific permit requirements.
- Partner with enterprise support to integrate environmental best practices and sustainability commitments into community operations, construction activities, and capital improvement projects.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of environmental management plans, spill prevention and response procedures, and waste management programs across the portfolio.
- Manage environmental permitting activities associated with new community development, construction, and ongoing operations in coordination with the Construction Manager and project teams.
- Lead environmental incident response, regulatory notifications, and remediation efforts when required.
- Conduct periodic environmental compliance audits across the portfolio, maintaining accurate records and documentation for regulatory purposes.
- Monitor evolving environmental regulations and proactively update programs and practices to ensure continued compliance.

Contract Compliance & Performance
- Own and manage the contract compliance function across the portfolio, ensuring all operational commitments, service level agreements, and contractual obligations to clients are consistently met.
- Develop and maintain a robust contract compliance tracking system, providing clear visibility into performance against contractual requirements and flagging areas of risk to the RVP.
- Direct the preparation of compliance reports, performance documentation, and corrective action plans for client audits, contract reviews, and regulatory inquiries.
- Partner with the RVP and LOB leadership to identify, assess, and mitigate contractual risks, including changes in scope, compliance gaps, and client-driven modifications.
- Establish and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) that reflect contractual requirements and drive consistent performance across all community sites.
- Coordinate closely with client groups on all compliance-related activities to ensure timely, accurate, and professional responses to client issues, audit findings, and reporting requirements.
Risk Management Framework & Governance
- Design and lead an integrated risk management framework that addresses operational, safety, environmental, and contractual across the portfolio.
- Conduct regular risk assessments for existing and new community sites, develop mitigation strategies and monitor progress.
- Serve as the subject matter expert in risk management during the RFP and pursuit process, partnering with Growth and the RVP to ensure risk considerations are embedded in proposals and contract structures.
- Partner with Aramark's corporate risk, legal, insurance, and compliance teams to ensure alignment with enterprise policies and to escalate significant risk events appropriately.
- Develop and maintain emergency response and business continuity plans for all sites within the portfolio.
Team Leadership & Organizational Development
- Coach and mentor site and district leaders on risk management practices, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and proactive risk awareness.
- Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular performance reviews, and develop talent pipeline within the risk function.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in risk management, occupational safety, environmental compliance, and/or compliance roles.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing multi-site safety and/or environmental compliance programs in complex operational environments (construction, facilities management, hospitality, remote communities, or similar).
- Experience operating in hyperscale construction, energy infrastructure, industrial, or large-scale facilities environments is strongly preferred.
- Deep technical knowledge of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance requirements (EPA, NPDES, RCRA), and contract management principles.
- Strong ability to develop and operationalize risk management frameworks across a geographically dispersed, multi-site portfolio.
- Executive presence and exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex risk topics clearly to senior client executives, regulators, and internal leadership.
- Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence without direct authority across cross-functional and site-level teams.
- Financial acumen with the ability to develop risk-related cost analyses, budget inputs, and business case presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, compliance management systems (CMMS), and virtual collaboration tools.
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
