Job Description
HR Operations is scaling its process improvement and project management. This role drives the operational backbone of that work, turning strategy into structured projects, standardizing how HR measures and improves its own processes, and giving field HR and managers tools that actually work day to day.
This is an individual-contributor role with high visibility to HR leadership. You'll report to the Director of HR Operations & Strategy and work across US HR Operations and HR Business Partners to close process gaps, run improvement projects end to end, and build the discipline (metrics, documentation, governance) that helps HR operate.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead process improvement projects across HR Operations, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Relations — from problem definition and root-cause analysis through pilot, measurement, and standard-work handoff.
- Apply appropriate Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC, process mapping, root cause analysis) to reduce cycle time and error rates in HR transactional and case-management processes (e.g., HR call center intake, I-9/E-Verify compliance workflows, offer/onboarding processing).
- Manage cross-functional projects on a defined cadence - charters, milestones, gate reviews, and stakeholder reporting - for initiatives tied to the FY27 HR Strategy portfolio and other HR Ops priorities.
- Support the project intake process for HR Operations — evaluating incoming requests from US HR Operations and HR Business Partners scoping and prioritizing against capacity, and routing approved work into the active project pipeline.
- Document and standardize processes — writing SOPs, job aids, and manager-facing guides that hold up in the field, not just in a binder.
- Facilitate improvement workshops and focus groups with HR Ops staff, field HR, and business partners to surface friction points and co-design fixes.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in process improvement, project management, or HR operations, with at least 2 years leading improvement projects directly (not just supporting them).
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification strongly preferred, particularly one earned through a corporate program at an organization with a well-established Six Sigma track record. Certifications from ASQ, IASSC, or an equivalent university/professional-body program will be considered. Internally-issued or vendor "belt" certificates lacking this kind of credible backing will not be considered equivalent.
- Demonstrated project management experience — PMP or equivalent formal training preferred, but proven delivery track record on cross-functional projects is the bar, not the credential alone.
- Advanced PowerPoint skills and Excel skills (formula-driven trackers, dashboards, pivot-based reporting) required.
- Strong written communicator who can produce field-ready, plain-language documentation — not academic process theory.
- Comfortable operating with a director as your primary stakeholder and driving your own project pipeline with minimal day-to-day oversight.
Preferred
- Prior experience supporting a large, distributed, field-heavy workforce (multi-site services, hospitality, retail, or similar operating environments).
- Experience with sprint-based or Agile-adjacent project cadences (charters, gate reviews, WIP limits) in a corporate function.
