Job Description

The Lease Accountant – Fixed Assets is responsible for performing a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions including adjustments, variance analysis and journal entries creations, all supported with requisite documentation. This position will report to the Director – Technical Accounting.

Job Responsibilities

•    Work to improve on collection of contracts that may affect lease accounting.
•    Evaluate contracts to ensure leases have been appropriately identified and classified.
•    Review updates made to the lease system for new lease contracts, amendments to existing contracts and contract terminations.
•    Review journal entries to be recorded as part of the month end close.
•    Analyze and review general ledger account reconciliations as part of the month end close.
•    Verify rent expense is being classified and recorded to the correct accounts in the general ledger to support internal and external reporting.
•    Drive review and analysis of the relevant financial information and ensure appropriate communication to the regions and business partners is provided as needed.
•    Assist with the integration of the lease system into the general ledger system.
•    Respond to inquiries and ad hoc analysis.
•    Develop and drive process improvements.
•    Provide support for special projects, ad hoc requests and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or accounting is required.
•    Two to four years of accounting experience is preferred.
•    Experience with contract reviews preferred.
•    Basic understanding of the new lease accounting standard (ASC 842).
•    Strong understanding and ability to reconcile balance sheet accounts required.
•    Ability to work within multiple systems and see opportunities for improvements.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
•    Ability to use Excel at a high level, including v-lookups and pivots required.
•    Strong analytical skills.
•    Strong oral and written communication skills.
•    Strong team player and self-driven individual.

COMPENSATION: The hourly rate or salary range for this position is $55,000 to $65,000.  If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer.  This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.​
