Title:  Jr. Data Engineer, Cognitive Data Services

We are seeking a Jr. Data Engineer who will work collaboratively with our enterprise and line of business stakeholders to continue the evolution of our enterprise data platform. The successful candidate will design, build, and deliver cloud-native, service-oriented products that transform our data ingestion, processing, and business intelligence capabilities.

Job Responsibilities

Core Job Duties/Responsibilities
Reporting to the Principal Data Engineer of Cognitive Data Services, this role will work closely with Enterprise and Line of Business technology teams focusing on building and maintaining data pipelines, working with cloud infrastructure, and developing data-driven applications.
The role is accountable for:
•    Design and implement data pipelines using Python and Java 
•    Create and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and transformation
•    Build data applications and developer portal using React
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements
•    Assist in maintaining cloud-native infrastructure
•    Document technical processes and data flows

Qualifications

 A minimum of 1 year of software development experience in the data domain 
•    BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
•    Proven experience in the following:  
o    Python or Java
o    SQL
o    Cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
o    ETL/ELT processes
•    Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
•    Experience with version control systems (Git)
•    Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
