Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Security & Device Management Intern to support the implementation of our labor management platform by identifying and addressing security gaps in field-deployed devices and assisting with server clean-up and decommissioning efforts. This role offers hands-on experience in IT security, network infrastructure, system testing, and user support while collaborating with field managers, client IT departments, and internal teams.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
Security & Device Management:
•    Identify field-deployed devices impacted by security gaps and determine necessary actions.
•    Engage with field managers and client IT teams to implement security adjustments.
•    Reconfigure firewalls and device communication settings as needed.
•    Test communication functionality post-configuration updates.
•    Conduct surveys with field managers to understand network infrastructure and device requirements.
•    Analyze collected data to recommend appropriate devices for timekeeping and security compliance.
•    Perform cleanup of configuration building blocks related to firewall settings and device communication.
•    Assist the QA team with testing configurations, pay policies, and device deployments.

Server Analysis & Decommissioning:
•    Analyze and document older servers to determine data migration needs.
•    Assist in moving data and applications from legacy servers to newer systems.
•    Ensure all critical information is saved and/or transferred before decommissioning.
•    Decommission and clean up legacy servers after successful data migration to minimize security risks.

Testing & Documentation:
•    Support testing efforts related to Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations.
•    Document procedures, test results, and create user guides for system configurations and deployments.
•    Assist in developing and conducting end-user training on security updates, device use, and system changes.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
•    Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
•    Basic understanding of network security, firewalls, and device communication protocols.
•    Familiarity with server infrastructure, data migration, and decommissioning processes is a plus.
•    Experience or coursework related to SSO implementations and system testing is a plus.
•    Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
•    Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
