Job Description

The Director of Cyber Resiliency is a forward-leaning security leader responsible for driving a unified approach to our organizational cyber resiliency. This role combines strategic risk oversight with operational readiness, ensuring the business can anticipate, withstand, and rapidly recover from cyber threats and technology disruptions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise business impact analysis, strong incident preparedness, and the ability to influence cross-functional leaders across technology, operations, and business units. 

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities: 

 

Cyber Security Management 

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and execution of the enterprise cyber resilience management program, aligned to business strategy and outcomes. 
  • Oversee internal cyber assessments, third-party/vendor processes, and control adherence activities. 
  • Partner with LOBs, enterprise risk management, compliance, audit, and legal teams to integrate cyber and technology resilience initiatives into broader resilience programs. 
  • Report security posture, trends, and mitigation effectiveness to senior leadership and governance boards. 

Business Resiliency & Preparedness 

  • Enact structured leadership of the cyber and technology components of business continuity planning (BCP), disaster recovery (DR), and crisis management efforts. 
  • Manage junior resources to coordinate and facilitate tabletop exercises, incident simulations, and readiness assessments with business and IT partners. 
  • Develop and maintain playbooks and workflows for coordinated cyber incident response and recovery. 
  • Champion continuous improvement of resiliency strategies based on threat intelligence and incident retrospectives. 

Training and Development 

  • Staff Training: through subordinates, develop and implement comprehensive training programs to educate staff on cyber management and resiliency best practices. 
  • Continuous Learning: Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement by staying updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies. 

Leadership & Governance 

  • Serve as chair or lead representative for a Technology & Cyber Resiliency Council (or similar governance body). 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align on standards, metrics, and priorities for cyber resilience. 
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to a small but impactful team, helping scale the function through cross-functional collaboration and influence. 

Qualifications

 

  • 10 + years of experience in cybersecurity, business continuity, or related fields 
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives or programs related to incident response, crisis management, or resiliency 
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership and working with governance or audit committees 
  • Strong communication, program management, and stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, or similar are preferred
