Title:  Culinary Development Chef - Amtrak

Job Description

We’re looking for a Culinary Development Chef to lead menu innovation and support culinary excellence across our Amtrak Food & Beverage operation. This role develops new products, creates and scales recipes, supports field training, and partners closely with internal teams, external chefs, suppliers, and our client to deliver high-quality, cost-effective culinary solutions.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop new menu concepts and scale recipes for large-volume production.
• Ensure accurate costing, yield, ingredient selection, and operational feasibility.
• Support culinary training for field teams and OBS crews; provide on-site tasting and rollout support.
• Maintain recipes in the Aramark database with clear procedures and standards.
• Present concepts and tasting outcomes to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Aramark Culinary, CPG, Supply Chain, Marketing, Procurement, and external partners.
• Stay current on NEC and regional food trends and participate in workshops, supplier sessions, and industry research.
• Travel across the NEC and nationally as needed to support culinary reviews and field engagement.

Qualifications

• AOS Culinary Degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive culinary experience, including recipe and product development.
• Strong skills in costing, labor analysis, menu development, and large-scale production.
• Knowledge of current food, restaurant, and dining trends; airline or flight-kitchen experience is a plus.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and client-facing skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, able to manage timelines and multiple projects.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and recipe/production systems.
• Self-starter with strong initiative and a collaborative mindset.
