Aramark Nexus is hiring Prep Cooks, Cooks, and Lead Cooks to join our culinary team at Caprock, a large-scale workforce community in the Texas Panhandle.

We are looking for culinary professionals at multiple experience levels, from Prep Cooks looking to grow their skills to experienced Cooks and Lead Cooks who can help execute high-volume food service operations.

 

Our culinary team prepares and serves meals for guests who live and work at Caprock. This is a fast-moving, high-volume environment where food quality, safety, consistency, teamwork, and hospitality matter every day.

Compensation

  • Hourly pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

In addition to hourly compensation, eligible Cap Rock employees receive free room and board, including private on-site housing and meals.

There is no monthly rent for eligible employee housing and no cost for provided meals, which can significantly reduce everyday living expenses.

 

Caprock housing is designed for individual occupancy. Pets and visitors are not permitted in employee housing. Couples who are both hired may be eligible for adjacent individual units based on availability.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities will vary based on whether you join Caprock as a Prep Cook, Cook, or Lead Cook and may include:

 

  • Prepare, cook, and serve food according to established recipes, menus, and production standards

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, measuring, portioning, and organizing food for service

  • Operate grills, ovens, fryers, stovetops, and other commercial kitchen equipment

  • Follow recipes and production standards to maintain consistent food quality, taste, and portioning

  • Support high-volume breakfast, lunch, and dinner meal periods

  • Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary food preparation and cooking areas

  • Follow food safety, sanitation, temperature-control, and workplace safety standards

  • Properly label, date, rotate, store, and handle food products

  • Assist with receiving, stocking, inventory, and kitchen organization as needed

  • Work closely with culinary leaders and kitchen team members to keep service running efficiently

  • Deliver consistent food quality and service for Caprock guests

  • Lead Cooks may provide day-to-day direction, training, and support to other culinary team members

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Prep Cook, Cook, Line Cook, Grill Cook, Production Cook, Lead Cook, Kitchen Cook, or similar culinary position

  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, resorts, dining halls, cafeterias, institutional dining, catering, hospitality, or other high-volume food service environments

  • Ability to follow recipes, food preparation standards, and food safety procedures

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced commercial kitchen

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements associated with commercial kitchen work

  • Flexible availability based on operational needs, including weekends and holidays

  • Lead Cook candidates should have previous experience providing direction, training, or support to other culinary employees

 

Culinary experience is preferred, but candidates with a strong interest in food service and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply for appropriate entry-level opportunities.

 

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
