Compensation
The salary range for this position is $80,000 to $105,000 If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Description
The Foodservice Concept Design Engineer –plays a vital role in shaping the early design direction of commercial kitchen and food - related environments. This role involves integrating architectural and engineering systems to ensure functionality, safety, and efficiency focusing on concept-level design that aligns with project goals and capital budgets. Collaborate through capital management and line of business operators, sales and marketing teams, you will develop efficient, code-compliant, and operationally sound conceptual layouts to support client proposals and capital project planning. Once the concept design is approved, the project is transitioned to architects, fabricators, subcontractors, and regional project managers for final detailing and execution. The role requires strong communication, design intuition, and a solid grasp of commercial kitchen systems, with the ability to work within budgetary constraints and client expectations.
This position is remote eligible.
Responsibilities
- Design conceptual layout plans using CAD and Revit, incorporating equipment placement, demonstrating adjacencies and workflows.
- Work independently to create conceptual commercial foodservice equipment designs that utilize available floor space and meet client’s operational and budgetary requirements.
- Perform site visits, as needed, to survey existing conditions, gather project information or identify equipment needs.
- Select and specify appropriate foodservice equipment, based on Aramark’s standards and aligned with the project’s budget, space, and operational needs.
- Prepare preliminary equipment schedules and cut sheets for sales and CMDC.
- Incorporate local and national codes and standards, including health and safety regulations, ADA accessibility requirements, and foodservice industry standards (e.g., NSF, UL, ANSI).
- Work with clients and project teams to identify goals, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback.

- Manage design projects through all phases, including planning, coordination, and documentation.
- Monitor timelines, deliverables, and budgets, ensuring seamless integration with construction schedules.
- Track expenses related to design work and project travel and adhere to company reimbursement policies and procedures.
- Maintain project documentation and Revit/CAD libraries to facilitate seamless workflow Quality Assurance
- Perform internal reviews to ensure design accuracy, functionality, efficiency, and aesthetic value.
- Conduct post-installation evaluations as needed. Innovation & Industry Trends
- Stay informed on emerging technologies, sustainability solutions, and best practices in commercial kitchen design.
- Recommend and implement innovative solutions to improve foodservice operations.
Qualifications
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification or coursework in foodservice design is a plus.
Technical Skills:
• Expert in CAD, Revit and BIM
• Expert with AutoQuotes
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and project management software.
Industry Knowledge:
• Experienced in commercial kitchen workflows, foodservice equipment, and systems integration.

Soft Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective team collaboration and the ability to manag e multiple priorities. Experience:
• 3-5 years of experience in foodservice design, commercial kitchen planning, or related architecture/engineering roles preferred.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
• Travel to client sites or construction locations.
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• May require walking job sites and reviewing physical equipment layouts.
• Travel potential – 45%
