Job Description

The Bench Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, testing, and refurbishing commercial and/or prosumer coffee equipment, including espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and related accessories. This role ensures equipment meets performance, safety, and quality standards before being returned to customers or placed into service.

 

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $25.05 to $25.05 If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in coffee equipment (espresso machines, grinders, brewers, batch and single‑serve systems)
  • Disassemble, repair, rebuild, and reassemble equipment according to manufacturer specifications
  • Perform preventative maintenance, refurbishments, and upgrades
  • Test equipment for proper temperature, pressure, flow rate, and overall performanceCalibrate grinders and brewing systems to established quality standards
  • Replace components such as pumps, valves, heating elements, boilers, gaskets, and electronics
  • Document repairs, parts used, and test results in service records or ERP systemsIdentify recurring issues and provide feedback to service or operations teams
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe bench and workshop environmentFollow electrical safety, water safety, and food‑contact best practicesSupport occasional phone or internal technical support as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience repairing mechanical or electro‑mechanical equipment
  • Comfortable working with electricity, pressurized water systems, and heat
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, parts diagrams, and service manuals
  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment (multimeter, pressure gauges)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Basic computer skills for service documentation 


This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking & standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
