The Food Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire food production process, ensuring efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. 

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Salaried rate for this position is $70,000.00 to $95,000.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Production Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement production schedules, considering resource availability, demand, and deadlines.
  • Quality and Safety Assurance: Establish and enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations (like HACCP and GMP) and quality control standards throughout the production process.
  • Staff Management: Lead, train, and supervise production staff, fostering teamwork and ensuring adherence to procedures and regulations.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, ensuring timely ordering and minimizing storage costs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance of production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage production budgets, control costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with other departments, such as quality assurance, supply chain, sales, and marketing, to ensure smooth operations and alignment with company goals and customer requirements.
  • Problem-solving: Address and resolve production-related issues promptly and efficiently to minimize disruptions. 

Qualifications

  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field; however, an Associate's degree diploma with extensive experience is accepted.
  • Experience: Proven experience in food production management or a similar role is essential, with a minimum of 5 years.
  • Technical Skills: A Strong understanding of food safety regulations (like HACCP, GMP), quality control standards, and production methodologies is crucial. Proficiency in using production management software and data analysis tools.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, adaptability, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are highly valued.
  • Certifications needed: ServSafe, SQF, or NYC food safety certificate, required.
