Job Description

The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant performs a variety of routine and non-routine accounting functions with significant responsibility for the accounting of fixed assets and review of select general ledger accounts related to fixed assets. The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant will be responsible for reconciling and reporting on the Deferred Charge Account which houses the company’s in process software projects. The Senior Fixed Assets Accountant will be responsible for training new and existing employees.

Job Responsibilities

•    Oversee the training of all department new hires
•    Lead a refresher training series for Fixed Asset Staff
•    Reconcile select balance sheet accounts
•    Responsible for ensuring the balance sheet is accurate for assigned line of business by performing monthly review in Blackline
•    Provide first line support to a team of 12 accountants
•    Subject matter expert on contract interpretation as it pertains to fixed assets
•    Proactively look to continually improve processes and systems.  
•    Participate on ad hoc projects as needed.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
•    1-3 years of experience in full cycle accounting and/or finance required.  
•    Fixed assets experience preferred, but not required. 
•    Strong analytical and technical accounting skills. 
•    Strong Excel skills are required. 
•    Experience with and knowledge of ERP accounting software and all Microsoft Office applications. Oracle experience preferred. 
•    Ability to develop relationships with diverse groups and various levels of financial and operating personnel.  Ability to develop remote relationships.  
•    Ability to work under limited supervision in resolving more complex issues. 
•    Flexibility, creative thinking, good business judgment, and strong organizational and communication skills are all required to meet strict deadlines and manage other projects. 
•    Must be a strong team player, highly motivated, and able to work under pressure during peak periods. 
•    Ability to perform complex or technical accounting tasks and functions. 
•    Ability to communicate well with internal and external parties, including HQ personnel, regional field personnel, other GBS personnel, and vendors.
