Job Description
Job Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, coach, develop, and supervise a team of custodial supervisors and frontline employees during overnight operations.
- Manage employee performance through regular feedback, recognition, coaching, and corrective action when necessary.
- Conduct shift meetings, safety briefings, and ongoing training sessions.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retention efforts for custodial staff.
- Promote a culture of accountability, engagement, safety, and customer service excellence.
Operational Management
- Oversee daily and nightly custodial operations across campus facilities.
- Ensure all assigned areas are cleaned and maintained according to established standards and schedules.
- Monitor staffing levels and adjust assignments to meet operational demands.
- Conduct routine inspections and quality assurance audits to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded.
- Investigate service issues and implement corrective action plans as needed.
- Coordinate special projects, event support, floor care programs, and seasonal cleaning initiatives.
Client & Campus Relations
- Maintain positive working relationships with university stakeholders, including facilities staff, housing departments, athletics, and campus leadership.
- Respond promptly and professionally to customer concerns and service requests.
- Ensure service delivery aligns with contractual obligations and campus expectations.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce all safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure proper use of chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records related to training, incidents, inspections, and compliance requirements.
- Support emergency response activities and campus weather-related operations as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 3 years of custodial, housekeeping, facilities, or environmental services experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or management experience leading hourly employees.
- Experience scheduling staff and managing workforce productivity.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and workforce management systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout campus facilities as needed.
