Job Description

As the Custodial General Manager, you will lead, manage, and oversee custodial and facility support services within a large manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for delivering operational excellence while meeting client objectives, maintaining a safe and compliant workplace, and achieving financial and service performance goals.

The Custodial General Manager serves as the primary point of contact for the client and is responsible for leading a team of supervisors, managers, and frontline employees to ensure the facility is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency. Success in this role requires strong leadership, relationship-building skills, financial acumen, and a commitment to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for all custodial and facility support operations within a manufacturing facility.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring service expectations and performance goals are achieved.
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, and frontline employees to promote a high-performing team culture.Manage budgets, labor, productivity, and operational costs to achieve financial targets.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management activities.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery, efficiency, and quality.
  • Partner with manufacturing leadership to support production objectives and operational needs.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop action plans to address opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage vendor relationships and oversee contracted services as needed.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, safety, and customer service excellence throughout the operation.

Qualifications

 

In order to be prepared for this leadership role, qualified candidates will possess:

  • Bachelor's degree level education highly preferred in an area of Food Service, Hospitality, Facilities, or Business Management.
  • The ability to focus on client and customer services, entrepreneurship and building and growing a strong business is essential to success in this role.
  • Savvy interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with clients, senior management, and Aramark support staff.
  • Comfortable reading, understanding, and implementing contractual requirements, including identifying opportunities within contract terms and conditions to address operational issues.
  • Meaningful experience in service industry, contract services, or hospitality environment.
  • Proven ability leading through other managers.
  • Experience in creating and managing a department budget, financial controls and analysis.
  • Experience crafting product sales strategies and implementing operational programs and initiatives.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
