Job Description

The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily custodial operations within a large industrial manufacturing environment. This role leads a unionized custodial team, ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained facility while meeting company standards, customer expectations, and labor agreement requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • - Supervise and support a team of union custodial employees across multiple shifts.
  • - Manage daily cleaning operations, work assignments, attendance, and performance.
  • - Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA requirements, and company policies.
  • - Conduct routine inspections to maintain cleanliness and facility appearance standards.
  • - Coordinate staffing, schedules, and workload distribution to meet operational needs.
  • - Maintain effective working relationships with union representatives and employees.
  • - Train, coach, and develop team members while promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • - Monitor inventory levels and ensure proper use of custodial equipment and supplies.
  • - Investigate and resolve employee, safety, and operational issues in a timely manner.
  • - Support continuous improvement initiatives and customer service objectives.

Qualifications

  • - Previous supervisory experience in custodial, facilities, janitorial, manufacturing, or industrial environments. 
  • - Experience working within a unionized workforce; familiarity with collective bargaining agreements preferred.
  • - Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.Knowledge of OSHA, workplace safety, and custodial best practices.
  • - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic reporting systems.
