Job Description

The Business Development Manager drives profitable new business across the Caribbean and Latin America, targeting independent hotels, management companies, ownership groups, and multi-property hospitality organizations in Avendra International’s core hospitality and lodging segment. This strategic role manages the full sales cycle, from prospecting and solution development through negotiation and contract execution, while partnering with regional teams and leadership to support Avendra International’s growth strategy.


Position Reports to Vice President, Caribbean and Latin America

Job Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities
•    Lead proposal development and commercial negotiations
•    Manage portfolio of assigned prospects to close business and meet individual and team revenue goals
•    Develop long-term relationships with industry/territory leaders
•    Deploy proactive selling strategies to sign up new accounts
•    Develop customized supply chain solution(s) based on prospective clients’ needs and business
•    Develop and deliver compelling presentations to influence C-level buyers to join Avendra International
•    Conduct sales calls on key C-level and key decision makers
•    Perform account research activity to develop qualified leads 
•    Interact with internal support teams (finance, legal, etc...) and Senior management as needed on complex deals
•    Ability to lead complex projects across multiple countries
•    Maintain current account information in Avendra’s Sales Force Automation system

 

Secondary Responsibilities
•    Represent Avendra International at select industry conferences
•    Work with Implementation and Account Management teams to seamlessly transition accounts once signed
•    Work with the Discovery team to coordinate a “Discovery” engagement on selected accounts
•    Coordinate and lead regional business and development initiatives to drive sales and increase market penetration.

Technical Skills Requirements
o    Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
o    Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills
o    Excellent Analytics – ability to take large amounts of data and mine the key insights that are helpful in developing a compelling sales presentation
o    Use of Sales Force

Qualifications

Language Requirements
o    Full Professional Proficiency in Spanish: Able to use (speak, write, and read) the language fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs
o    Full Professional Proficiency in English: Able to use (speak, write, and read) the language fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs

 

Overnight Travel Requirements. Type: All modes of transportation, percentage up to 50%, length: 2-4 nights.  Must be able to travel internationally and have a valid passport (and all legal documentation required to enter/exit US, Caribbean and Latin America countries 

Years of Relevant Experience.   5-8 years of relevant experience

Education Requirements. BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent years’ experience with education in supply chain, business, economics, or related field highly desired  
Work Environment. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines
