Job Description

The Operations Manager will lead all maintenance operations and oversee, train, and direct hard services workers. Report to the General Manager in achieving objectives and client expectations.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Trains employees on proper and safe use of all equipment and chemicals. Ensures safety moments and safety training is completed on a daily and/or weekly basis.

  • Adheres to established procedures to provide a safe working environment including aligning with OSHA, state/local, federal, and Aramark regulations. Responds to safety concerns and escalates as needed.

  • Respond to communication on a frequent basis and in a timely manner. Communication may come from Aramark email, client email, or phone calls.

  • Disciplinary documentation and investigations must be completed in a timely manner and in alignment with the respective employee. Coaches, presents, and maintains confidentiality of disciplinary notices and investigations with the support of the next level manager and human resources.

  • Maintains compliance with Aramark and Client standards, scope of work, Business Conduct Policy, and all federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Review, edit, and approve timecards in Time Keeping System.

  • Maintain a high degree of integrity and confidentiality, recognize employees. Effectively coach and train employees utilizing methods that support each individual’s learning style to develop employees to success and promotability. Works alongside time, as necessary.

  • Model professional behavior and language, support a diverse team of employees with equity and inclusivity.

  • Drives process Improvement, completes daily inspections to ensure quality.

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, coaches, and develops team. Ensures certifications/licensing are accurate for the task.

  • Oversees building services: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, and other maintenance needs. Upholds Scope of Work.  

  • Works closely with manager and Client regarding hiring contract work: roofing, parking lot, construction projects

  • Reviews work orders to prioritize and understand supplies, equipment, labor, and budget required to complete the project.

  • Monitor response times, aging, completion rates, and other factors critical to performance.

  • Understands departmental expenses regarding inventory and labor costs to maintain budget.

  • Foster site-wide initiatives to upgrade methods and technologies including tools, equipment, and technology. Present solutions to minimum run-to-fail situations as well as energy and labor efficiency opportunities such as with AIWX and robotics.

  • Know and uphold Aramark’s policies procedures and Service Agreement with the Client to allow customers and tenants to focus on their core business. Take ownership of campus-wide facilities, and infrastructure, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility performance, operating effectiveness, and cost efficiency. In order to meet Aramark and Client business needs, job duties may change, or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.

Qualifications

  • Requires 3-5 years of experience in maintenance and custodial 

  •  Requires 1-3 years of experience in a management role

  • Must have working knowledge of conveyor system and box sealers and erectors

  • Computer use is required. Highly proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and the ability to learn various software systems to support the position.

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • Ability to manage as part of a larger team or manage function independently, without direct supervision

  • The ability to multi-task is a must
