Job Description

The Client Account Manager serves as the primary day-to-day contact for a key strategic client and works closely with the Director of Account Management to execute client initiatives, manage account activities, deliver reporting and analytics, and ensure successful achievement of client objectives. This role supports the overall management of the client relationship through coordination of ongoing initiatives, project execution, issue resolution, reporting, and follow-through on client requests. The Manager is responsible for ensuring action items, projects, and client deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule while serving as a key liaison between the client, suppliers, and internal Avendra stakeholders. This role also helps develop and implement comprehensive account plans designed to increase participation, improve client satisfaction, and retain the client long term by aligning Avendra resources, expertise, and services with the client's business goals and objectives.

Job Responsibilities

•    Establish and maintain strong relationships with key corporate contacts, property contacts, suppliers, and Avendra internal teams.
•    Serve as the primary day-to-day contact, coordinating client requests, issue resolution, communications, and follow-up activities to ensure a high level of client engagement and satisfaction.
•    Support the development, implementation, and execution of account plans aligned with the client’s business imperatives, contractual commitments, and long-term growth and retention.
•    Coordinate and manage ongoing account initiatives, ensuring action items, project milestones, client commitments, and deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
•    Develop, maintain, and deliver recurring reporting, dashboards, scorecards, and ad hoc analyses related to spend, participation, compliance, savings, and other performance metrics. 
•    Analyze spend, participation, and compliance trends to identify opportunities, risks, operational improvements, and program growth initiatives. Identify and implement opportunities based on the analysis.
•    Prepare and present materials for recurring business reviews, executive reviews, project updates, and other client-facing meetings. 
•    Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among clients, suppliers, and Avendra departments to support account objectives and resolve operational challenges. 
•    Support product evaluations, product cuttings, supplier reviews, optimization initiatives, rationalization projects, and other sourcing-related activities. 
•    Monitor performance against established objectives, participation goals, spend commitments, contractual requirements, and client success metrics. 
•    Support implementation of new Avendra programs, supplier conversions, contract requirements, and other client initiatives. 
•    Establish and maintain productive working relationships with manufacturers and distributors to support client objectives and program performance. 
•    Maintain comprehensive documentation of account initiatives, project status, open issues, action items, and client commitments.
•    Establish educational materials for properties and implement training calls and schedules. Simplify any complexities on the program while identifying, promoting, and implementing Avendra programs.
•    Assist the e-commerce team with triaging requests to ensure rapid completion and assisting with first level support of client’s e-commerce program. Maintain meticulous reporting and records with e-commerce to ensure rapid implementation and onboarding.
•    Assist with any special projects, strategic initiatives, and additional account support activities as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 Years of experience in account management, client services, hospitality operations, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Excellent attention to detail when drafting emails, creating presentations, preparing analysis, or supporting key initiatives at the above-property or property level.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with corporate leaders, C-Suite audiences, internal stakeholders, suppliers, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, deadlines, action items, and competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to identify issues, develop solutions, and drive timely resolution through collaboration and follow-through.
  • Very strong analytical skills with experience interpreting spend, participation, financial, operational, or performance data to support business decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint to analyze and approach data.
  • Experience preparing and delivering client-facing presentations, business reviews, and executive summaries.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and proactively drive projects and initiatives with limited supervision.
  • Hospitality industry experience required. Food and beverage and procurement experience preferred.
  • Experience working with multi-unit hospitality organizations, management companies, ownership groups, or franchise portfolios.
  • Experience supporting strategic accounts, national accounts, or enterprise-level clients.
  • Experience with spend analysis, compliance reporting, rebate reporting, benchmarking, or business intelligence tools.

 

 

Position Details:

Overnight Travel Requirements: All modes of transportation, approximately 25% travel, length: 1-2 nights monthly

Years of Relevant Experience. 3-5 years of experience

Education Requirements. BS/BA in relevant field required. Master's degree preferred
