The Engineering Manager at Adventures on the Gorge is responsible for the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all facilities, infrastructure, and mechanical systems across the resort. This role plans, directs, and executes all activities related to facility maintenance and engineering services, while ensuring compliance with Aramark standards, client expectations, and all applicable regulatory requirements. The Engineering Manager oversees maintenance operations across lodging units, F&B outlets, retail locations, recreation facilities, transportation assets, and common areas, including preventative maintenance planning, work order execution, capital project support, and emergency response coordination. The role is also responsible for maintaining all aquatic facilities, including pool systems, ensuring proper water chemistry, filtration and circulation performance, regulatory compliance, and seasonal opening and closing readiness.
This position is accountable for maintenance financial performance, including operating budget management, labor planning, parts and inventory control, and vendor service oversight. The Engineering Manager partners closely with Operations, Lodging, Food & Beverage, Risk, and Safety teams to prioritize work, minimize downtime, and maintain peak-season readiness. The role leads maintenance supervisors and technicians, sets performance expectations, supports training and development, and reinforces a culture focused on safety, accountability, and preventative maintenance discipline. The Engineering Manager also serves as a key point of contact during facility emergencies, severe weather events, and critical equipment failures, ensuring rapid response and clear communication across departments.
Job Responsibilities
• Leads, mentors, engages and develops teams to enhance their contributions, including recruiting, assessing, training, coaching, and managing performance
• Coach employees by creating a shared understanding about what needs to be achieved and how it is to be achieved
• Rewards and recognizes employees
• Ensures safety and sanitation standards in operation
• Develops a strong level of trust and credibility regarding technical competency
• Provides technical expertise in all engineering areas including the resort pool, kitchen, cabins, and all facilities
Delivers and models WEST as the foundation for delivering excellent customer service
Financial Performance
• Responsible for building revenue and managing budget which includes cost controls regarding engineering, inventory, projects, and labor as well as ensuring the completion and maintenance of P&L and budget statements
• Adopts all Aramark processes and systems, eliminate custom/manual reports
• Understands performance metrics, data, and order and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve margins
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other departments to provide a unified approach
• Provides overall direction and manages performance for all Engineering supervisors , and front-line employees, ensuring employee development, engagement and compliance with human resource related policies and standards, including conducting applicable rounding
• Ensures compliance with appropriate safety, OSHA, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards

Qualifications
• Requires 3-5 years of experience in maintenance and/or engineering
• Requires 1-3 years of experience in a management role
• Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Ability to manage as part of a larger team or manage function independently, without direct supervision
• The ability to multi-task is a must
