Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor guides and controls facilities activities in the warehouse. Supervises all facilities/custodial staff, while maintaining the security of the warehouse.  Provides a safe working environment through compliance of safety programs.

Job Responsibilities

• Partner with temporary staffing agencies to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods or staffing shortages.
• Assist in planning and assigning daily work tasks to achieve the most efficient use of personnel and equipment across warehouse operations.
• Maintain appropriate levels of cleaning and custodial supplies
• Conduct frequent inspections of warehouse interior and exterior areas to ensure compliance with cleanliness, safety, and quality standards
• Maintain awareness of all custodial and recycling work assignments to guarantee consistent and adequate coverage throughout all shifts.
• Supervise custodial and warehouse staff responsible for cleaning and maintaining all interior and exterior spaces.
• Supervise and assist with recycling staff responsibilities for the recycling and cleanliness of the Recycle Center.
• When required, assist with custodial and recycling duties to ensure operational continuity.
• Serve as essential personnel during emergencies, inclement weather, or other events requiring continuous facility support.
• Ensure all custodial and recycling employees adhere to safety standards and follow established security protocols.
• Assist in managing service orders and communicate directly with vendors to ensure timely response and issue resolution.
• Recommend and help implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline warehouse operations.
• Provide training and guidance to warehouse employees; assist in recruitment, onboarding, and skill development of new team members.

Qualifications

• Requires at least 3-5 years of experience in a facilities/warehouse role
• Requires basic mathematical skills such as adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and good driving record
• Must have excellent communications skills both verbal and written
• Must be flexible and able to adjust to variable work demands
• Must be capable of performing duties in varying environmental conditions—both inside and outside the warehouse, including extreme temperatures.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking & standing.  This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
