Job Description
We are seeking a strategic Controller to lead our accounting and financial reporting functions. This role is responsible for managing daily accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, and supporting senior leadership with financial and operational analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, leadership experience, and a background in the service industry.
Job Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes
- Manage financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Assist with the development and documentation of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Oversee or support inventory and cost accounting
- Provide cash flow analysis and forecasting support to leadership
- Collaborate with leadership and upper management
- Ensure alignment of financial controls and policies
- Oversee payroll staff and coordinate with the HR Department when necessary
- Prepare for external audits and assist with interim requests
- Conduct internal audit when deemed necessary
- Handle multi-entity and multi-location accounting
- Responsible for ongoing evaluation and enforcement of policies and procedures with regard to Credit Control Department
- Advance unresolved issues
- Any ad hoc duties that may arise
Note: Due to the nature of the business additional duties may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications
Technical Knowledge and key attributes:
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in service industry combined with a system driven approach to credit control
- Prior experience working as a Controller in mid-sized to larger organizations
- Have very good knowledge of Excel (crucial)
- Have experience of working with Oracle System – this would be an advantage
- Possess relevant or related financial qualification
- Have good interpersonal and communication skills
- Are self-motivated
- Have excellent phone manner (crucial)
