Job Description
Hospitality and Special Events Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of food and beverage operations during a PGA-sanctioned golf tournament. This includes managing vendor relationships, ensuring high-quality guest experiences, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, and coordinating logistics for concessions and hospitality areas.
Job Responsibilities
- Vendor Management
- Select, contract, and manage food and beverage vendors.
- Ensure vendors meet quality, service, and compliance standards.
- Coordinate vendor setup, operations, and teardown.
- Operational Oversight
- Develop and execute a comprehensive food and concessions plan.
- Oversee layout and logistics of concession stands, hospitality tents, and VIP areas.
- Monitor inventory, staffing, and service levels throughout the event.
- Budget & Financial Management
- Manage food and beverage budgets, including forecasting and cost control.
- Track revenue and expenses, and provide post-event financial reporting.
- Guest Experience
- Ensure a high-quality, consistent culinary experience for all attendees.
- Address customer service issues and implement improvements as needed.
- Compliance & Safety
- Ensure all food operations comply with local health codes and PGA standards.
- Coordinate with security and safety teams to maintain a safe environment.
- Team Leadership
- Supervise on-site food service staff and volunteers.
- Provide training and support to ensure smooth operations.
- Stakeholder Communication
- Serve as the primary point of contact for food-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with tournament leadership, sponsors, and hospitality partners.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in large-scale event food service or hospitality management
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and vendor operations
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to manage budgets and vendor contracts
- Experience working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Prior experience with PGA or similar sporting events preferred
