Job Description
Aramark is hiring a Custodial Services Worker to support Facilities Management operations at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. In this housekeeping and janitorial role, you will help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming academic buildings, classrooms, common areas, and campus facilities. This is a consistent day shift position working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., providing stable hours and work-life balance. Daily responsibilities include cleaning, sanitizing, waste removal, floor care, and maintaining assigned areas to university and Aramark standards. We are seeking dependable team members who take pride in their work, follow safety procedures, and can perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
Compensation Data
COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $13.00 to $15.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities
• Perform routine housekeeping and custodial services throughout university facilities.
• Clean and sanitize classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, entrances, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces.
• Collect, transport, and dispose of trash and recyclable materials according to established procedures.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment and cleaning tools safely.
• Restock restroom and cleaning supplies as needed.
• Follow OSHA, university, and Aramark safety standards and cleaning procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns and facility issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and professional environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Wear required uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
Qualifications
Required
• Ability to work a fixed Monday-Friday, 6:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. schedule.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and properly use cleaning chemicals and supplies.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and lift throughout the workday.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
• Previous custodial, housekeeping, janitorial, environmental services (EVS), or commercial cleaning experience.
• Experience working in schools, universities, healthcare facilities, offices, or similar commercial environments.
• Familiarity with floor care equipment, cleaning tools, and housekeeping best practices.
