Job Description

Supervises daily operations of the Plant Operations & Maintenance department, including coordinating work force requests to improve productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Maintains required preventive maintenance program and documentation to satisfy policies, procedures and JCAHO requirements.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients and co-workers. Is responsive to customer needs.
  • Develops relationship with Client in conjunction with POM Director and/or Technical Services General Manager.
  • Supervises the day-to-day functions of the department in an effective, timely and professional manner.
  • Prepares schedules, makes job assignments, monitors personnel and maintains appropriate personnel and records in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and supervises completion of Plant Operations & Maintenance staff required safety programs and annual training in a timely and professional manner.
  • Supervises effective training programs for the department.
  • Prepares proper documentation of maintenance records to satisfy all code compliance including JCAHO.
  • Supervises continual process improvement & quality control for entire department.
  • Maintains an inventory of assets to effectively schedule preventive maintenance using the risk based formula and the Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Maintains adequate communication with customers, staff, and management in a clear and professional manner.
  • Maintains good working relationship with all divisions of Aramark and their client.
  • Supervises the department personnel to ensure proper shift coverage at all times.
  • Manages day-to-day department operations budget to maintain financial viability.
  • Purchases parts and supplies within the Aramark purchasing guidelines to ensure parts inventory for critical operations.
  • Prepares timely and accurate financial, statistical, tracking reports and interpretation as required.
  • Coordinates with committees to facilitate planning, budgeting and scheduling of maintenance, repairs and projects.
  • Determines the causes of malfunctions, the extensiveness of repair or modification needs.
  • Develops planning documents for initiation of equipment replacement and repairs for approval.
  • Inspects completed work assignments to ensure satisfactory work quality.
  • Monitors all phases of maintenance and repairs including assistance in the coordination and completion of projects.
  • Maintains established systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Complies with all OSHA regulations and other local, state and federal government regulations
  • Continually improves the facility infrastructure as needed.
  • May assist in hiring procedures, and gives technical assistance to supervisors and employees engaged in plant and operations maintenance issues and projects.
  • Communicates with all levels within the organization and external vendors and contractors.
  • Supervises planned utility shutdowns in an effective manner.
  • Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.
  • Maintains compliance with ARAMARK’s standards of operation, client and within ARAMARK’s Business Conduct Policy. Maintains all records and reports necessary to regulations and codes.
  • Maintains compliance with all requirements of Federal, State and local regulations and guidelines including the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967, as amended, and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as amended.
  • All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

  • Position requires minimum 1-3 years experience in POM supervision preferred.
  • Minimum 1-5 years experience in plant operations. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of facilities planning and construction management.

  • Financial Analysis and Interpretation.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).

Bachelors preferred
