Job Description
We are looking for an experienced JR/Staff Accountant to be part of our team. This role includes both Accounting and Data Management duties (and will have informal reporting expectations to two leaders/managers). The ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of Accounting functions, Microsoft Office programs, is detail oriented, and has a “can do” attitude. This role is crucial in keeping a flow of the company’s business operations. his position requires in-office attendance at least 3 days a week at HPSI HQ Office (Irvine, CA). To fulfill full time schedule, other 2 days can be either remote or in-office.
Position Reports to: Accounting Manager
Job Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
• Bank Reconciliations
• Processing and applying supplier Payments to receivables
• Recording journal entries
• Research accounting issues that arise throughout the month and provide reporting/analysis when necessary
• Revenue analysis to determine variances
• Ad hoc Projects as instructed by Accounting Manager
Secondary Duties:
• Administrative/clerical support for the data department, including filing and data entry
• Support contract setup in billing system (HPSI Suite) which generates about $1 million in dietary NVDs per month
o Item matching and maintenance functions-categorization and detailed product information tasks in HPSI Suite, such as mapping items to contract and elimination of duplicate references to the same item, re-assigning to the correct item
• Oversee the collection of about a $2 million per month in NVD payments and manage outstanding receivables
• Organize, fold, and mail state-mandated 800 Prudent Buyer envelopes to our members
• Complete special projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications
• Minimum 1-2 years relevant accounting and/or finance experience
• BS/BA or equivalent years' experience, degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
• Microsoft Excel proficiency is a must and Microsoft Office Suite is desired.
• Proven organizational, communication, problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret/analyze financial documents and data are required.
• Solid accounting knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and relevant regulations.
• Knowledge of data analysis tools such as SQL, VBA, and Excel Macros or others would be a plus
• Strong detail orientation and the ability to prioritize multiple projects concurrently are essential

Benefits
COMPENSATION: The hourly rate or salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.
