Job Description
Pay: $41.58/hour
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Equipment Mechanic to maintain and repair industrial mobile equipment at the GM Flint Assembly Plant. This role focuses on diagnosing, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on equipment such as fork trucks, golf carts, and other material handling equipment (MHE).
This is a union environment, and candidates must be flexible with scheduling, including potential shift changes based on seniority and collective bargaining agreements.
Job Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on mobile equipment, including battery-powered systems
- Perform preventative maintenance (oil changes, lubrication, inspections, and component replacements)
- Service and repair forklifts, golf carts, and industrial support equipment
- Maintain tires, batteries, and other critical components
- Read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized shop environment
- Support team members and collaborate across maintenance operations
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a mobile equipment mechanic OR
- Mechanical Journeyman Card (required if <8 years experience)
- Strong experience with industrial vehicle maintenance (forklifts, MHE, etc.)
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and diagnostic capability
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work in a union environment with shift flexibility
