The EVS Manager is responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff while overseeing daily EVS operations, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, employee engagement, and client satisfaction. This role provides leadership to frontline teams and partners with hospital leadership to drive operational excellence and service quality throughout the facility

 

Leadership

• Lead and oversee daily Environmental Services (EVS) operations at Evanston Hospital, ensuring a clean, safe, and patient-focused environment.
• Supervise, coach, and develop frontline EVS staff and supervisors to achieve operational and service excellence.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Plan staffing levels and work assignments to meet operational needs while maintaining labor efficiency.
• Conduct routine team meetings, performance discussions, and recognition activities.

Operations & Quality

• Ensure patient rooms, clinical areas, public spaces, and support departments meet cleanliness, sanitation, and appearance standards.
• Maintain compliance with hospital, regulatory, infection prevention, and Aramark standards and procedures.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections, audits, and follow-up activities to drive consistent performance.
• Respond promptly and professionally to client, patient, and customer concerns.
• Support departmental readiness for surveys, inspections, and accreditation reviews.

Client Relationship

• Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital leadership and key stakeholders.
• Communicate operational updates, performance metrics, and improvement initiatives to clients and leadership teams.
• Deliver and model excellent customer service standards throughout the operation.
• Partner with hospital departments to support a positive patient, visitor, and employee experience.

Financial Performance

• Manage departmental budgets, labor costs, supplies, and inventory to achieve financial objectives.
• Monitor operational performance metrics and implement action plans to improve results.
• Support productivity initiatives while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Ensure accurate completion of required financial and operational reporting.

Productivity & Continuous Improvement

• Drive operational excellence through effective processes, workflows, and staffing practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency, and employee engagement.
• Utilize performance data and key metrics to make informed operational decisions.
• Support sustainability, waste reduction, and cost-control initiatives as appropriate.

• 3+ years of experience in Environmental Services (EVS), housekeeping, hospitality, hotel operations, commercial cleaning, custodial services, or a related field required.
• 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience required.
• Healthcare Environmental Services (EVS) experience preferred but not required.
• Experience leading teams in a hospital, healthcare, hospitality, hotel, commercial cleaning, or other large-scale service environment preferred.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively interact with hospital leadership, clients, and key stakeholders.
• Ability to manage staffing, operational priorities, quality standards, and performance metrics in a fast-paced environment.
