Looking for a custodial, janitorial, cleaning, or housekeeping job at a university? Aramark is hiring a Custodian to help keep the University of New Hampshire clean, safe, and welcoming for students, employees, and visitors.

This is a hands-on cleaning position. You'll clean and maintain assigned areas of the university, including tasks such as cleaning floors and surfaces, removing trash, using and caring for cleaning equipment, and helping make sure buildings are clean and ready for use.

Previous custodial or cleaning experience is preferred, but this is an entry-level opportunity. We're looking for someone who is dependable, takes pride in their work, follows safety procedures, and provides friendly service.

Job Responsibilities

As a Custodian, you will:

• Clean assigned areas to Aramark and university standards.
• Help keep university buildings clean, orderly, and safe.
• Remove trash and transport it to designated disposal areas.
• Use, clean, and properly care for custodial and housekeeping equipment.
• Follow safety procedures when using cleaning products and chemicals.
• Report maintenance problems or concerns so they can be addressed.
• Lock or unlock assigned areas when required.
• Help protect university and company property.
• Provide friendly and respectful service to students, employees, guests, clients, and coworkers.
• Follow OSHA, state, local, federal, Aramark, and university safety requirements.

Job responsibilities may change based on university and business needs.

• Are dependable and take pride in keeping spaces clean.
• Can follow instructions and basic safety procedures.
• Are comfortable working around cleaning products and chemicals.
• Have a friendly, helpful, and positive attitude.
• Can adjust to the needs of students, guests, clients, and coworkers.
• Can work independently and complete assigned cleaning responsibilities.
• Have previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience. Experience is preferred.

Qualifications

This is an active job that may require you to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods.
• Bend, push, and pull.
• Lift and move items as needed to complete cleaning responsibilities.
• Wear a uniform and/or Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
