The Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation of the resort before, during, and after the seasonal opening. This 10-month position is responsible for overseeing daily operations across lodging, retail, and food & beverage outlets, while also managing pre-season preparation and post-season closeout. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced, seasonal hospitality environment.

Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road—4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks—this breathtaking area offers daily bus services along the park road throughout the warm summer months, providing opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, climbing, and camping.
Located just 7 miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park, the Denali Park Village Hotel operates from May to September. Our guests enjoy comfortable accommodations, exceptional dining options, and live entertainment in a stunning natural setting.
Position Details: This exciting role from January to October. We offer competitive wages, comfortable on-site housing, and a variety of fun activities to keep your summer vibrant. Stay active in our on-site gym and enjoy an inclusive meal plan for just $7.50 a day.

Job Responsibilities

Pre-Season (January – April):
-
Lead hiring, onboarding, and training of seasonal staff across all departments.

Coordinate with GM and Department Heads to prepare facilities, equipment, and systems for opening.

Ensure compliance with safety, licensing, and regulatory requirements.

Develop operational plans, budgets, and schedules for the upcoming season.

In-Season (May – September):

Oversee day-to-day operations of guest services, food & beverage, and retail.

Manage department heads and provide support to ensure excellent guest experiences.
- Develops and maintains client relationships to grow base business and improve retention of account base.

Monitor financial performance and control costs to achieve budget goals.

Uphold company standards for safety, quality, and service.

Foster a positive team environment through coaching, communication, and recognition.

Address guest concerns and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

Post-Season (September - October):
-
Lead closing operations, including staff offboarding, inventory, and facility winterization.

Conduct end-of-season evaluations, reporting on successes, challenges, and recommendations for the following year.

Assist with capital project planning and long-term improvements.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

Minimum 5 years of hospitality operations management experience, preferably in a resort or seasonal environment.

Strong leadership skills with proven ability to manage diverse teams of 100+ seasonal staff.

Experience in food & beverage, lodging, and/or retail operations.

Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced seasonal setting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with POS and property management systems preferred.
Work Environment:

Full-time, 10-month position (January – October).

Requires on-site presence in Denali, Alaska, during operating season.

Extended hours and weekend work may be required during peak season.
