Job Description
Food Service Workers at the Morino Grill support the only dining option located inside Denali National Park and Preserve, serving visitors from around the world in a fast-casual environment. This role involves preparing and serving food, making espresso drinks, operating the cash register, stocking supplies, and maintaining a clean and welcoming dining area.
As part of a small, high-energy team, Food Service Workers must be friendly, adaptable, and ready to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The position is ideal for individuals who enjoy customer service, teamwork, and living in a remote, iconic national park setting.
About Denali National Park & Preserve and Doyon/Aramark Joint Venture:
Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road—4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks.
Doyon Limited and Aramark have teamed up in a Joint Venture as the Denali National Park & Preserve's Concessionaire. Open May to September, our operation manages the transportation, retail, guest service and food and beverage concessions with our client; The National Park Service. By road, our 100 Blue Bird Bus Fleet takes guests past the 15-mile public access point daily during summer months, allowing people to hike, view wildlife, climb, and camp where few people have set foot.
This is a seasonal role with ideal dates of May 7 - September 17, 2026.

Job Responsibilities
Guest Service
- Greet all guests warmly and provide friendly, attentive service in a fast-casual setting.
- Answer questions about menu items, ingredients, and park dining options.
- Ensure guest satisfaction through quick service, accuracy, and a positive attitude.
Food & Beverage Preparation
- Prepare and assemble menu items such as sandwiches, burgers, salads, and grab-and-go items.
- Make a variety of coffee and espresso beverages according to recipes and standards.
- Ensure food quality, consistency, and proper presentation.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and handling procedures.
Cash Handling & POS Operation
- Operate the cash register accurately for purchases, returns, and adjustments.
- Handle cash, credit, and digital payments responsibly.
- Maintain accuracy during high-volume rush periods.
Cleaning & Stocking
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, dining area, kitchen and service counter.
- Restock utensils, condiments, beverages, packaged goods, and supplies throughout the day.
- Assist with dishwashing, trash removal, and end-of-day cleaning duties.
Teamwork & Communication
- Work closely with fellow team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely service.
- Communicate needs, issues, or guest concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Participate in a positive, supportive team culture within a remote environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service, cashiering, coffee preparation, or customer service preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-traffic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to operate a POS system.
- Ability to follow recipes, safety guidelines, and sanitation standards.
- Minimum age of 21 preferred (due to occasional handling of alcohol or related responsibilities).
- Ability to live and work in a remote location for the duration of the season.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for stocking and prep tasks.
- Comfortable working in a remote national park location with high summer visitation and peak rush periods.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
