Job Description
Aramark is hiring a Groundskeeping Lead to support grounds and exterior maintenance operations across Coppell ISD. This role is responsible for hands-on grounds maintenance while also providing day-to-day leadership, direction, and oversight to a small groundskeeping team. This position is ideal for an experienced grounds professional who enjoys leading from the field, maintaining high standards, and supporting a school district environment where safety, appearance, and reliability matter.
Work Location: Coppell, TX (multiple school sites)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Employment Type: Full-Time | Hourly
Team Size: Lead for 3–5 grounds employees
Job Responsibilities

Lead and participate in daily groundskeeping operations, including:
-
Mowing, trimming, edging, and weeding
-
Leaf removal and seasonal cleanup
-
Fertilizing, planting, and landscape care
-
Inclement weather response, including ice and snow removal when applicable
-

Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, and exterior common areas
-
Apply planned landscaping designs and sustainability guidelines

Operate and oversee use of grounds equipment, including:

Power mowers, weed eaters, hedge trimmers

Chainsaws, sprayers, and hand tools

Trucks, tractors, and attachments as needed

Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on lawn equipment and tools

Train, guide, and support grounds staff on:

Job duties and productivity expectations

Equipment operation
-
Safety procedures and best practices
-

Assign daily tasks and support crew scheduling and coverage

Conduct grounds audits, identify improvement opportunities, and implement corrective actions

Ensure compliance with codes, safety standards, district guidelines, and Aramark policies
-
Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly
-
Utilize CMMS to track work, inspections, and service requests (preferred)

Qualifications
-
3–5 years of groundskeeping or horticulture experience preferred

Prior experience leading or supervising a small crew (3–5 employees) required

Working knowledge of groundskeeping principles and power landscape equipment

Ability to work independently with limited supervision
-
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

Working knowledge of CMMS systems preferred

Ability to adhere strictly to safety procedures
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).

Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical labor throughout the shift
