Job Description

We are seeking professional Catering Servers to join our team for VIP events at USC Men’s and Women’s Basketball home games and other on-call events. This role focuses on serving high-profile clientele, where a polished, professional attitude and appearance are essential. Providing exceptional customer service is our top priority, and we are looking for individuals who can ensure a seamless, luxury guest experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional service to VIP guests, ensuring their needs are met efficiently and courteously.
  • Responsible for the complete setup, operation, and breakdown of buffets, food and beverage stations, and event spaces, ensuring everything is prepared and presented to the highest standards.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, maintaining luxury standards throughout the event.
  • Assist with inventory, restocking, and event preparation as required, ensuring events run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff, event managers, and team members to ensure flawless execution of events.
  • Anticipate and address guest needs, including special requests, to ensure a memorable experience.
  • Ensure food, beverage, and event areas remain clean, well-organized, and presentable at all times.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines, keeping workspaces sanitary and organized.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor throughout each event, representing the company with poise and reliability.
  • Be available for evening and weekend shifts, especially during USC home games and additional on-call events.

Physical Demands:

  • This position involves extensive walking and covering large event areas at venues such as Colonial Life Arena, Williams Brice Stadium, and various locations across the USC campus.
  • Servers must be able to carry trays, set up and break down catering stations, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and move quickly between areas while delivering consistent service.
  • Events may take place outdoors or in varying weather conditions, requiring adaptability and stamina.

Qualifications

  • Previous catering or hospitality experience, especially in VIP or upscale settings, is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional customer service and the ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility for evening and weekend shifts, particularly during USC games and special events.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, potentially in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
  • A polished, professional appearance and demeanor are mandatory.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
