Title:  Food Service Supervisor - Academy Dist. 20

Job Description

The Food Service Supervisor plays a vital role in ensuring efficient food service operations across Academy District 20. Each Food Service Supervisor is assigned to a base school and is responsible for maintaining sufficient inventory within the base kitchen to ensure smooth daily meal service. This includes overseeing product requisitions, managing stock levels, and coordinating with the Kitchen Manager to keep operations running efficiently.

The Food Service Supervisor also supports district-wide logistics by assisting with product movement between host and satellite schools and driving a district vehicle when needed. This hands-on role works closely with the General Manager, Logistics Assistant, Kitchen Manager, and Area Food Service Managers to maintain accurate inventory records, fulfill requisitions, and uphold Aramark’s standards for food safety, accuracy, and service excellence.

Work Environment

• Based at a designated base school within Academy District 20.
• Frequent interaction with school staff, kitchen leads, and drivers.
• Requires physical activity including lifting, moving carts, and driving district vehicles.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday during school calendar days.
• Hours coordinated with delivery routes, meal service, and event needs.

Compensation Data

COMPENSATION: The Hourly rate for this position is $18.00 to $18.00. If both numbers are the same, that is the amount that Aramark expects to offer. This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Requisition and Inventory Management

• Manage and maintain inventory at the assigned base school to ensure products are available for daily service.
• Work closely with the Kitchen Manager to track, rotate, and order stock as needed.
• Collect and review daily product requisitions from assigned satellite schools.
• Pull, organize, and prepare products from host site inventory for transfer.
• Maintain accurate inventory tracking using PRIMA Web (training provided).
• Communicate shortages, substitutions, or overages to the Area Food Service Manager.

Product Distribution and Delivery

• Load and unload food and supply deliveries safely and efficiently.
• Drive a district vehicle or truck to deliver products to schools when necessary.
• Ensure all deliveries comply with Aramark’s food safety and sanitation standards.

Operational Oversight

• Support kitchen operations by assisting with production setup, equipment organization, and sanitation when needed.
• Oversee the staging and labeling of product carts for delivery and pickup.
• Verify that all items are accounted for and properly returned to inventory.

Leadership and Collaboration

• Serve as the point of contact for assigned schools to resolve daily operational needs.
• Collaborate with the General Manager, Kitchen Manager, Logistics Assistant, and Area Food Service Manager to coordinate product movement and event needs.
• Assist with onboarding and supporting new team members.

Safety and Compliance

• Maintain ServSafe and Aramark food safety standards.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections when assigned to drive.
• Follow all company and district policies related to transport, safety, and sanitation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior food service, warehouse, or delivery experience preferred.
• ServSafe Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.
• Proficient in basic technology, including the use of tablets, computers, and digital inventory systems.
• Strong basic math and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking (training provided).
